I am thinking of buying a sit n stand stroller. I have a 4.5 and 9mo old. I think it would be good.

My question is if anyone has any experience with them and what ages? Ever take it on a plane? It is better to buy one or rent one? Is it a hassle?

I am not sure if we are having more kids or not. Does anyone have one they don't need anymore?

I imagine my older one is going to get tired and want to ride some of the time. Carrying him would be hard, especially at the end of a day.

Suggestions?

I owned one. It's large and bulky. Not the best stroller for WDW. It's not that easy to fold and it's heavy and doesn't fold down small.

For WDW, I would get a good lightweight stroller like Graco Citlite picture for $79. at Babies R Us.

Or I'd get the cheaper but still very nice and lightweight Kolcraft lightweight stroller picture for $39.99 at Babies R Us.

Both of these strollers are very popular for WDW as they are lightweight, have a basket, recline, and have a canopy and cup holders.

Then for your older DD, I'd either bring a cheap lightweight umbrella stroller or rent one at WDW as needed.

To each his own, though. Some love bringing their big bulky stroller from home and have no problem with it being a bit difficult to use at WDW. Do what is best for you!;)

We've got the Sit'n'Stand and have taken it to WDW a couple of times. It's VERY bulky and inconvenient. (Especially getting on and off the buses with 3 little ones.) If you have an older child, I recommend using the rentals. They are huge and the big wheels make them easy to push. An umbrella stroller toddler works well with most toddlers. Have Fun...

I have 2 children. The one year old will need naps and I think a reclining stroller will be best. The toddler won't want to be walking the entire time either. I don't think an umbrella will work. I don't want to take 2 strollers. Are you saying buying a double umbrella side by side recliner would be better than the sit n stand?

Yes, I would choose a side-by-side lightweight umbrella type stroller over the Sit and Stand.

We've used a double umbrella stroller at Disney World for the last 3 years and it's perfect for us.

But you have a 9 month old and that was the only reason I didn't recommend it. I wasn't sure if you baby was old enough for one.

I know how tough it is deciding on what stroller to bring to WDW with 2 kids! Good luck!

We are leaving in one month and are having a similar dilema...

We already have owned a Kolcraft side-by-side umbrella and own a Sit-Stand now. Yes, the sit-stand is bulky and a bit heavy...but I think we're going with this option...here are my pros/cons.

Kolcraft - not padded very much - difficult to maneuver through stores/restaurants/doorways..reclines about two inches (not much)...not made well (locking bar bends and breaks)...skinny seats (not much butt room and my petite almost-four-year-old doesn't find it very comfy.

Sit-Stand...big and heavy...but we're renting a car and parking, then staying in one park each day - so we won't be boarding busses or monorails or the like (I'd imagine)...reclines...big canopy...either of my daughters can sit/stand on the back (I also have a 6 year old). Easier for my 4 year old to get in and out of.
Bigger basket underneath for storage. I considered also bringing a lightweight umbrella stroller to use in the airport - since we probably can't bring the sit/stand with us and will have to check it.

In a perfect world, I'd buy the Maclaren Twin Traveller...but that's pretty $$ and I'd rather have the money to spend at Dis! :)

I had one and it was the best investment we ever made. My kids are 3 yrs 1 mo apart so it worked perfect. We brought it to WDW on 2 trips, when they were 8 months & 3.5, and 20 mos & 4.5. Yes it was a little bulky on the buses and the umbrella stroller is much easier, but I wouldnt have survived the parks without it.
We took it on the plane once and they had no problem checking it at the gate, just like a regular stroller.

Excellent! Thank you for the posts. I think the Sit N Stand is right for us. Now I just have to find one that is less expensive than new.
We are going to try to take it on the plane and deal with the busses/monorail. I think it will be better than taking TWO strollers.::yes::

Thanks for the info about checking strollers at the gate - maybe we'll forgo the little umbrella, then!! :)

Oh - and check ebay for the stroller. I saw TONS of them :D

If I had a box, I'd sell you mine - but they're sooo heavy to ship. We don't use it at all at home, but I thought Disney would be the perfect place for it.
