I am looking for a sit-down dinner in Epcot that has really good food, but has something to entertain two highly active kids (toddler and preschooler). The choice of food for the kids is not important, they just like to be entertained while they eat. Everyone here seems to be so knowledgeable. Your thoughts and ideas are most wanted. Thanks.:)

I'll try and take a swing at this one-

1. Restaurant Marrakesh has a live band and performing Belly Dance at various times during dinner. They will often include kids in the act and has really good food.

2. Teppanyaki. Really good food and completely entertaining chefs. Would probably be a great experience.

3. San Angel Inn. It gets ravaged by some reviewers, but personally I like it and the setting can't be beat. With a riverside table, they can watch the boats on El Rio del Tiempo.

I'm sure others will chime in here and give you other suggestions, but these seem good to me!

Good luck!

I would say the Coral Reef - which all the tables look over a huge walled aquarium - they also have a good kids menu with desserts like "peanut butter play-doh & make your own sundaes" :)

Garden Grill is a "safe" choice. It is a character meal with Farmer Mickey, Chip & Dale, and Pluto, but I'd recommend it even if it weren't. The food is basic American "comfort" food, e.g. salad, flank steak, turkey & dressing, etc., and very good in quality and preparation. Childrens items such as chicken fingers and mac & cheese are available too.

It's a revolving restaurant which provides a little more entertainment for children. It's not a buffet, but it is "all you care to eat"; you can ask for seconds on anything. Dessert and beverages are included.

Thanks for all the help. I am now debating between Marrakesh and Coral Reef. My kids don't like typical kids food and prefer seafood and rice---my toddler won't eat french fries but will eat all the fish and rice you feed him. Anyway--they love Japanese and we eat there often. The Marrakesh seems like a nice alternative.

I was originally thinking I would travel over to WL for dinner at Whispering Canyon, but I am thinking that if I am returning for Illuminations, it might be better to stay in the park.

Any more thoughts? Thanks again!!

When my son was 2 1/2 we ate at Marrakesh and he loved it! The food was very good, and the belly dancer kept him entertained. It also wasn't too crowded so he was able to get up from his seat and dance without bothering anyone.

Either of your final two will be great choices. The tough part about Coral Reef is if you do not get a table that is at the windows you may have a hard time convincing the kids to stay in their seats, and even with a PS I've had to wait for a table at peak times. That said - going at an off peak time is great and makes it much more likely you'll be at the windows. One thing I plan to try this time is if the kids have eaten a decent meal I'll go ahead and get some kind of treat for them, fruit, ice cream or play-doh and I'll order it when the kids are ready for it, not when DH and I finish our meals. It will buy us a little more time. A back up plan to that will be to keep some mini boxes of raisins, which they love, and pull those out.
