Sit-down/Counter Service with an infant?

I was all set thinking it would be possible to take an infant to WDW......until I thought about the food part. If -- big if -- we were to go yet this year, it'd probably be during DDP days, meaning the wee one would be about 3 months old.

How exactly would I "house" her, for lack of a better word, at a sit-down restaurant? The stroller we'd be taking is a double (Mountain Buggy Urban Double) and there is no way to attach a bucket to it (I'm not big on buckets anyway). I'm not about to purchase another stroller with bucket. I'm also not real handy with a sling and shouldn't use one due to back problems. Hmmm.....though sitting with one might be fine.

Do any of the sit-down restaurants allow a person to haul in a double stroller next to the table? Doubt it, but thought I'd ask. ;) What does one do with the stroller while dining? Do they have a place for you to park outside each establishment?

Counter-service should be easy enough to work around though right? One of us adults would just sit with all the kids while the other ordered everything. That's how we work it at Disneyland and it goes smoothly enough.

All of the TS restaurants require your stroller be parked. Don't remember if this is the case at CS places. We had DS in a Baby Bjorn with lumbar support, and things worked out very well (he fell asleep before several TS experiences, so high chair wasn't always an option for us). At OHana's and WCC, I had him in the Bjorn and sat kind of sideways in my chair so that I had decent access to my food (at least with one hand :teeth: )

The Bjorn was very comfortable - I even used it several times instead of his stroller while touring and had no problems.

On a seperate note - I'd recommend finding the Baby Care stations at each park as soon as you get there! I can't say enough good things about them, from the relaxing nursing rooms to the diaper stations and family bathrooms. They even have a small activity room with videos and crayons for the sibs while baby is being taken care of. The one at MK was my favorite, followed by Epcot, AK and MGM (yes, I spent a chunk of our vacation in them  ).

We found going with a baby was not a problem at all - just had to take a slower pace, plenty of breaks and had to prioritize must-sees vs. extras.

Hope you get to see the World!

Some of the restaurants have infant highchairs...im sure you could call and find out which do and which don't.

We just got back from the World last Sat with our 6 month old and the first place we ate at was CP which did have the infant highchair which is basically an infant seat permanently attached to a highchair base which was great. We asked our server about it who cheerily replied "every restaurant has them" which we though was wonderful and make the rest of the trip soooo easy. Well let me tell you NO other restaurant had them and we asked every where. We ate at 50's primetime, Biergarten, le cellier, Akershus, etc. At Akershus they told us they're waiting to get them but nothing yet. I don't know about a double stroller but we did plead with Biergarten and Le Cellier to let us bring in our Combi b/c our son isn't steady enough to sit in a highchair and they obliged. If your double is compact enough they might let you do it, it wouldn't hurt to ask. Just try and eat at off times and pick restaurants with more wiggle room.

Good luck!
