Sit down! Buckle up! & Hang On! Mickeystoontown's Gang is going to Walley World! 5/15

Good stuff first: Great plans! I love Boma (breakfast, doing dinner for the first time this year! Yay!
I love all the Epcot plans. We did Captain Eo last year and I would do it again if I had to kill some time. But certainly not if there was anything better to do! :rotfl:
I hope you enjoy AoA. I loved it there in September, what a great resort. So big and bright and fun!

And the bad: OH MAN that sucks about your temp cancelling on you just 5 days before you go!! I hope you find someone and soon!

Thanks for the input on Captain EO. We've never seen it and figure that it's something that we could skip again if need be.

Mama is super excited about going to see AoA. She watched the special on television and kept saying how neat it looked.

So much to remember since I was so far behind. The most important thing is about celebrating Hunter's birthday with the 24 hour party. That sounds like so much fun-but I know I wouldn't be able to go anywhere the next day.

We tried Boma a few years ago--Enjoyed the meal and especially seeing AKL.

Can you believe how close we are? You go to Disney next week and tomorrow puts me in the teenage digits! :)

Hunter is stoked about spending his 16th in the Magic Kingdom. Not sure that we'll be able to stick around to closing but we'll see.

We are both going to Disney sooooooooon!:yay:

Oh no! I really hope you can find someone to replace you. If you didn't, your boss wouldn't make you miss your trip, would he? I sure hope not!

I think you should try giving the standby queue at Test Track a try, if the wait is not too bad. It's quite fun to design your own car! Not worth an hour wait for sure though.

I watched Captain EO and found it utterly boring. Skip it, seriously.

I miss Art of Animation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you like it there, it's so wonderful!

My boss knows better than to ask me to cancel the trip. I'd be all over him like white on rice. :p

I didn't even think about not getting the opportunity to design your own car if you used the Fastpass line. Thanks!

OH NO :scared:. I know you have found somebody by now, right? I would be freaking out too!!! I am freaking out too :faint:.

I'm working on it!

Holy temp drama Batman! I sure hope you can find someone fast!! You really don't need this kind of chaos just a few days before your trip!!
Fingers crossed!

I know! I'm working on finding someone else.

BREATHE! You ARE going, no matter what. Your family comes first and I know you feel that way. And you are right, topsy turvy whirlwind...something (ok many things!) go wrong and it will work out, but GEEZ could you have a lot less drama to have to handle.:hug:

Oh I've been breathing alright, just not deep cleansing breathes. :rotfl:

OMG- That doesn't mean that you would have to stay if you can't get a temp? HOLY MOLY!!

When I had my second son, I interviewed a temp to cover me for my maternity leave..... This was a Friday and I was supposed to be able to train her for 2.5 weeks until I had the baby.. Landen decided he was ready that night and I had them Saturday. The temp just had to figure it out.. LOL

Oh my! I bet that your boss was stressing out since you had no time to train the temp.

I'm going to Disney no matter what!

Holy "missed-a-bunch-of-updates" BATMAN! I was so behind!!!

I am beyond jealous of your 24-hour MK plans. We are only missing it by a week...I would have been all over that.

I can't believe your trip is only 5 days away. Soooo excited for you!!!!!:thumbsup2

Sounds like your EPCOT day is going to be full o' fun. I will weigh in on the TT debate. We went through the FP line, and unfortunately you don't get as many options when you create your car. Honestly, though, it didn't really bother me. I didn't even make a car, because I wasn't sure if the DBF and I had to share a key card or what (you dont...everyone can make their own). We thought the ride was fun and we were huge fans of the old TT. I think they did a fine job of updating it and I have heard that the SB line car choices are much better than FP.

Can't wait to read more...I think I posted right in between updates..OOPS! :confused3

Thanks so much for the info on the new Test Track. I hadn't even thought about the fact that we'd miss designing our car if we used Fastpass.

I hate that you're going to miss the 24 hours in the Magic Kingdom and by just a short time period too.

Sounds like a good day at Epcot for sure!

I did Captain EO in December, and I say skip it, unless you have a bunch of extra time on your second day. It made no sense to me, looked very old and I walked out feeling like it was by far the worst attraction I had experienced at WDW.

Exploring resorts is a great option for that day, since you would have had a very long day at MK and Epcot has so much walking you'll be tired. Breakfast at Whispering sounds great, and looks delicious. I didn't get to explore AoA a lot, but it is gorgeous. CSR looks nice too. But I want to see (and stay at!) AKL more than any other resort on property so I'm jealous you get to go there. And it's great you will get to see your family members then too.

I'm pretty sure that we're going to skip Captain EO or do it on a day when Lacey & Jesse aren't there so that we don't screw up their one day at Epcot.

Mama and I are the ones who are most looking forward to looking around the various resorts. John really could care less. ;)

Sounds like great plans for the start of your trip. I'm trying to work my nerve up to try Boma I'm just so picky that i'm not sure if I would like it.

From what everybody is saying, even picky eaters will find something that they like at Boma.

Great plans! 24 hours in MK, Fun in Epcot and some resort visits sound fabulous! I've never eaten at Whispering Canyon, but it sounds and looks good! My DH would love one of those skillets!

Boma is NOT that scary, trust me! My DH is a plain meat and potatoes kind of guy, and he loves the meat there, especially when they have ribs. My DD12 is super picky, and there's enough on the "kids" section to keep her happy. If all else fails, go to that area and grab some mac and cheese or chicken nuggets! Plus they have great desserts!

We usually eat breakfast for dinner...yeah, I know, we're crazy like that. We aren't big early morning eaters but the skillet at Whispering Canyon is really really good.

Thank you so much for the reassurance on our Boma choice. I am a tad bit worried but it sounds like we'll be okay.

Your Epcot day sounds nice. We love the new TT, but I really would encourage you to go through the regular queue line at least once. When you use the FP line, you will get to pick your cars, but you can't design everything like you do when you wait in the regular line. To us, the designing of the car helps the re-themed ride make sense. And the competitive nature of my boys makes the end where you see how your car stacks up against all the other designs a must do.

You're not the only one who suggests we go through the "regular" line for Test Track. It sounds like I need to change up our Fastpass strategy.:thumbsup2 Thanks for the input!

Get ready to fall in love, Lisa!!! Animal Kingdom Lodge is probably my all-time favorite place to be! The lobby is amazing and I love the animals. I just can't say enough about my love for that place. :rotfl:

Boma is one of our favorites. I think it's because you can try different things without feeling like you are locked into eating it, like you would be at a restaurant where you have to pick something specific. I think the food is different, but not so different that you can't figure out what you are eating...for the most part.

So you're saying to save up my money 'cause we're going to want to stay there?! :lmao: Oh goodness, my bank account is already screaming NOOOOO! :rotfl:

That's exactly why we chose Boma...it's a buffet and we can try a bunch of different foods without, like you said, locking into one thing.

Definitely agree with this! I am sorta picky sorta not and Boma is one of my favorite restaurants in all of disney! I loved the meat , and the mashed potatoes (who knew?) were delicious! And the desserts are AMAZING! And if you are picky about dessert too, they have plain cookies and other american desserts as well as more exotic desserts.

AKL is soooooo gorgeous! It is lovely there and i hope to someday stay there! I just love AKL!

Now i really want to try out WCC! Those skillets look delicious!

I NEED to try via napoli! I just loooooove pizza! How Awesome is it that you get to go there as well! So jealous!

I'm so happy to hear all of this picky eater love for dinner at Boma!

You really do need to try the skillet at WCC and the pizzas at Via. Both are very good!

I thought that I'd post an update on my temp crisis.

Yesterday afternoon, I put out a text and Facebook message to every one that I thought might possibly know someone who could fill in for me.

Some of you wonderful Dis friends of mine said that you'd be more than happy to fill in for me if you didn't live so far away. Dis friends are the absolute best! Love ya'll!

Some people said that they might know someone but they didn't pan out.

My niece sent a text saying that a friend of a friend may be able to work for me. Some messages and calls were exchanged and it looks promising. She's going to come in today at 2:30 to meet with my boss. She's worked in an attorney's office before in debt collecting so she can deal with rude and frantic people which, in my case, can also include my boss. HA!

Several of you are paralegals and attorneys so you know that we must find someone reliable and knows to keep their mouth shut. Everything has to be kept confidential. Getting someone who knows this is essential. Because this one lady has worked in an attorney's office before, she'll be aware of that need/requirement.

If that doesn't work out, I have a friend (who appeared on Duck Dynasty, I might add :goodvibes) who manages a temp service and she said that she can get someone fairly quickly if we get in a pickle. One of my Dis friends teaches a class at church and all are college age students with some attending a university which is super close to our office. She may have somebody that would be willing to work. Hopefully, it won't come that close to the wire that I have to call on either of these ladies' generosity.

Whoever comes is going to have it really easy since my boss announced yesterday that he thinks that he is going to take off the entire week of Memorial Day. He just can't fathom how he can handle working without me. No lie! That's what he said! Makes a girl feel pretty darn good. ;)

No matter what, I am going to Disney. Come heck or high water!

Lisa, plans sound great.

Not a fan of Captain EO...but it is still there.

We were in the "do not like" the new Test Track, but it seems guys like it more than us gals.

We've never done Boma for dinner...only breakfast...so I'll be curious to what you thought of it.

I hope you like CSR...it really is a beautiful resort.

I cannot believe that the temp baled on you. I sure hope you find someone sooner rather than later. If it were me, I'd be :hyper: and  and :faint:

And what a sweet thing of your boss to say. Mine informed me yesterday that he is taking the week off that I am gone next month because he feels the same way (plus the man is 87 and really should slow down a little :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:).

Wow you must be one special lady if your boss is going take off the entire week ! I guess that tells who runs the office :rotfl:

Oh no Lisa! I hope you can find a temp. You don't need this stress right now.

Love hearing about your plans. I love the idea of checking out so many resorts in one day. Maybe you'll fall in love with one! I have to admit as much as we are looking forward to a Royal Room at POR I am a little sad that we won't be back at CBR.

Lisa! I'm finally caught up from after my trip. :goodvibes Those dresses were soooo cute on Aubree. :cutie: I need to find pics of her in them (have over 3000 to go through:faint:) We are also getting ready for DD's 21st birthday on the 24th, DD18's graduation on the 24th, DD16 and DD18 along with DGD leaving to visit family in Pennsylvania on the 25th and DH and I are leaving to visit family in Michigan on the 25th.
I think I remember the acrobats listed for China on our trip. LOVE Boma, the best soup I tried was carrot-ginger, tasted like warm pumpkin pie. :thumbsup2
Oh no! to the temp fiasco, but if he's going to be gone also maybe a message on your phone service saying the office is closed until y'all get back?

Girl, I sure hope it works out!! I sent you a text. A nurse would be a good temp for you as we are bound by HIPPA..........lol.

I don't blame you for going ahead to Disney!! If your boss is going to take the week off then he could just close the office. I know it would be a big ole mess when y'all got back, but hey, Disney is a callin'.

He knows he has it made with you!! You do everything for him, but go to court. I would have to tell him "If you really appreciate me like you say, then I would love to see that translate into $$$ in my check" ;).

Totally OT, I got my full release from the doctor today, so I get to go back to my babies :cool1:. I now have a whole new respect for the case workers; they are overworked and stressed out all the time :crazy2:.

My mama was just asking me last night if I had heard from you lately. I'm so happy that the dresses looked cute on her. I wanna see pictures as soon as you get a chance. Goodness gracious! You are one busy woman!

It sounds like we made a good choice when we chose Boma!

I just now saw your text....sorry! The potential temp is sitting in the waiting room waiting to see my boss. I don't know why he told her to be here at 2:30 when he knew he wouldn't be done with his 2:00 appointment in 30 minutes. Oh well! She seems nice and I hope that she works out.

My boss is really good about remembering to give me a raise every year. It's not a whole lot of money but at least I don't have to ask for it. He also gives me $100 cash each week for my "gas money". He knows that, if he were to give it as a raise on my paycheck, I wouldn't get hardly anything after taxes.

Woo Hoo! I'm so happy that you've been given a full release!

Oh no Lisa! I hope you can find a temp. You don't need this stress right now.

Potential temp is in with the boss right now. I like her and I hope that he does too. We are running out of options.

I'm hoping that we have enough time in the day to go see the other two resorts. If I have to pick one, then it will definitely be CSR. It has future stay potential.

He has a, how do I say it.....a rather gruff personality and a reputation for being a tough lawyer so we have some that run scared. I, on the other hand, have known him for quite a while and know how to handle him and his temper. Makes me feel good to hear him say it though. :thumbsup2

Lisa, plans sound great.

We knew that the temp was job hunting but she had just called two days ago and said that she hadn't found anything and would be here to fill in for me. She's a single mother so I know that she needed the permanent job more than just a temp for two weeks.

Doesn't it make you feel good when your boss says they are taking off too just because you won't be there? ;)

Phew!!!

I have been so majorly behind on everybody's reports, but thanks to your handy-dandy links, I am all caught up on yours. Love the titles of your chapters!

Wow! I was so scared reading about your temp drama, but I'm glad it was only temporary! You must be so relieved that everything is back on track!!!

So I was all the way back to your House of Blues update- food looks yummy and I know you will enjoy it!!!

A couple of years ago, we returned to Sea World after not visiting for about 7 years. We enjoyed our time there, but it is definitely not a need-to-go every year kind of place. I don't think I have any tips for you, unfortunately. I think you will all like Journey to Atlantis. It is a lot like Splash Mountain with sea creatures and florescent lights instead of Brer Animals. I think we got moderately wet.

Love the sea lion show, and love the mime who performs before the show even more. And of course the Shamu show is just unbelievable!

Glad to hear you are going to that restaurant with the meat on skewers! Sounds like a great night, and I hope you make it out onto the Poly beach for fireworks.

I love how you will be getting your money's worth on this trip with a 24 hour MK day. I put my money on the 3 of you lasting until 2 am.

Sounds like you have a nice day planned at EPCOT. I am looking forward to trying out the new Test Track, too, since it was closed on our last visit.

Love your plan to visit 2 resorts and 2 lodges. I didn't realize you had never been to AKL!!! As you know from pictures, it is just gorgeous!!! I hope you love Boma. That may be my favorite restaurant in the World.

Looking forward to reading more, and I will try to keep up!
