Sisterhood of the Traveling Sausage! Update 10/12 Final Meal!

You can make reservations for Mythos at Open Table. I believe Mythos closes an hour before closing so if the park closes fairly early you may be better off having lunch at Mythos and dinner at Three Broomsticks. Just a thought. Go Packers!

Loving your review and your pictures!!:thumbsup2
Thank you! Will add more pretty soon!

Great reviews! Everybody raves about the macadamia nut pancakes at Kona but I just cant get past the fact that it has pineapple on it. I just dont think it would good with syrup  Maybe one day I will try it but probably not any time soon.
I actually ate syrup with this and it was very good! You could probably also order without the pineapple. I wanted to try the tonga toast but it looked a little too sweet for me (as if pineapple and syrup wasn't sweet!:rotfl2:)

Thank you for the info! What would I do without you all here on the DISboards? :thumbsup2 I wonder if lunch might be cheaper too? I looked up their menu online and it looks great!!

Catching up on your reviews! The pancakes at Kona Cafe look yummy and am glad you enjoyed O'hana - will def be making a reservation there on a future trip.

WPE sure is a great CS place - we loved it!

Thanks for catching up so soon after you got back! Kona and Ohana were really yummy. I've already made ADRs for both during my upcoming trip in January!

After we ate at Kona, the three of us (my sister, the sausage and me) went straight to Hollywood Studios!

We went straight to Toy Story Mania to get fastpasses which weren't until 2:30 pm. So we went on lots and lots of rides and we wandered into the American Idol Experience. I'd never seen it before so we sat down and this was my view during the entire performance :lmao:

But we loved it! It was so much fun that we walked out and decided to go to the very next performance.

After our large breakfast we weren't super hungry but we thought we'd better get a snack so we could ward off the hangriness as we didn't have a reservation at The Wave until 6:25. First we went to Starring Rolls to get a cupcake but all of the good ones were gone. I was very sad so we went to the Tune In Lounge so I could drown my sorrows in this

A Magical Star Cocktail - X-Fusion Organic Mango and Passion Fruit Liqueur, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, and a souvenir Multicolored Glow Cube.

I'm sure that my sister ordered something to drink but apparently if it doesn't have a light up glow cube in it, it wasn't worthy of taking a picture! :lmao: We also ordered some onion rings. I DID take a picture of those but it got deleted off of my phone somehow. :confused3 The bartender was great and took care of us very quickly even though he looked incredibly busy. And shortly after I got my drink I went to reach for an onion ring and knocked the drink over and it spilled everywhere. The bartender must have thought I'd been drinking all day long! He graciously cleaned it all up and then made me another which I didn't expect or even think of asking for as it was completely my fault. The Tune In Lounge is right in the lobby of 50s Prime Time and a very cute little spot (I'd learned about it here in the dining reviews). I'd been to 50s PT before but never even noticed the little bar there! You can get drinks as well as 50s PT food there. But that definitely held us over until we could eat at The Wave which is coming up next!

We loved American Idol - it sure is a great way to get some rest and out of the heat! :thumbsup2

Oh no on Starring Rolls not having any good cupcakes left but am pleased you got to drown your sorrows at the Tune in Lounge. That was good of the bartender to make you another drink after the little accident.

Lovin your report, and the bonus Aaron Rodgers makes it even better. Lucky you working for AG, I am jealous, but if you saw DD bedroom you would think the store exploded there.

After hanging out at DHS we went back to WL for our daily afternoon rest before dinner. But on the way we decided to stop at Roaring Fork to look for a carrot cake cupcake because our last one was snatched away from us because we weren't quick enough!

This was great and look at that lovely frosting! The frosting was my favorite part of this cupcake. If I had to compare the RF carrot cupcake and the WPE carrot cake, I think the WPE would win but just a smidge.

After we were rested up, I couldn't wait for dinner at The Wave. My sister and I aren't used to anything very unusual when it comes to food but we like to try new things whenever possible so I thought The Wave would be fun and just a little bit different than what we normally eat. It was our very last table service meal of the trip and a friend had given it a great review. We ended up getting there about 25 minutes early and the host gave us a pager and said they would try to get us in early if they could but they could make no promises. I swear that we waited maybe 2 - 3 minutes and our pager was going off already! We were taken to our seat and greeted shortly thereafter by our server Damon. He was very nice and funny and did a great job of explaining the concept of The Wave - sustainable and environmentally friendly (I got a paper straw). I started off by ordering a tropical mojito.

I love a good mojito and this was one of the best I've had!

For my main dish my sister ordered the Beef Tenderloin that came with oven-dried tomatoes, roasted Fingerling potatoes, cabernet sauce and tomato green bean salad. I know I got a picture of this but you guessed it - gone from my phone. My sister said it was good but didn't elaborate much. What she didn't tell me is that after our Kona breakfast that she started to feel sick. Her stomach was upset and she was starting to get a cold. So she was feeling pretty ick at this point. And what I didn't know is that I was starting to come down with it as well! For dinner I ordered the Pork Tenderloin

This came with spicy peach jam, boniato bread pudding and warm spinach salad. I must admit that I had no idea what a "boniato" was! I wanted the pork tenderloin dish but was too embarrassed to ask Damon so I Googled it quickly on my phone and found that it was a type of sweet potato. Good! I like sweet potatoes! I found everything to be very good. The pork was so tender and cooked perfectly, the boniato bread pudding was more like a boniato muffin but it was nice and soft and very tasty. I'm sad to say that I just wasn't incredibly hungry like I thought I would be but I now know that I was in the beginning stages of getting sick.

For dessert Diane ordered the gelato trio

This was Peanut Butter and Jelly gelato, Rocky Road gelato and Popcorn gelato. She liked all of these and the only one I tried was the popcorn which was excellent.

I had the American Flavors trio and I tried hard to eat everything though I wasn't hungry.

These included a Key Lime square, Mississippi Mud Pie with a little ice cream and Boston Cream Pie. I give a thumbs up to all three!!

I have to give a shout out to our server Damon. It was a bit odd because he seemed a little frazzled that night. I don't know if he was behind but he kept apologizing for the wait but honestly, there really was no wait for him to apologize for! He was fun and attentive. We made sure to tell him that we were in no hurry at all so he shouldn't worry about it. And then at the end of our meal there was one extra drink added to our bill and he quickly took care of it and apologized profusely. It seemed like he wasn't very confident that night but he should have been because he was great.

I have to give this meal a solid two sausage rating

I think that if we were both feeling well, it may have gotten a three sausage rating. I would definitely go back to The Wave to test this out!

I thought it was very nice of him to make another drink as well because I was a total klutz! And I agree that American Idol was fun as well. We did it mainly to get out of the heat too but it ended up being so much fun!

Lovin your report, and the bonus Aaron Rodgers makes it even better. Lucky you working for AG, I am jealous, but if you saw DD bedroom you would think the store exploded there.
Thanks for the kind words. It's a very fun place to work!! Sometimes I think that I like the dolls more than my DD does! (oh, and Go Pack!)

I love the Tune In Lounge!
I've eaten at 50s PT before and never noticed this place. It's like a little secret that you can sit there for a drink and food as well. Loved it!

Mmm that carrot cupcake looks delish!

I love your review of The Wave - every one I have read of this place has been positive so I may have to check it out on a future trip. I'm glad you got a really nice server.

Lol I now know what a 'boniato' is - thanks for the explanantion!

Oh no I hope you both felt better soon and the icky feeling was nothing serious. The desserts look yummy - think I would love to try that popcorn gelato.

Don't feel bad -- I saw boniato on a different Disney menu, and I didn't know what it was, either. I wiki'd it:lmao: I bet a lot of people don't know what it is.

Great review of The Wave. I've just been thinking of putting this on my list for our upcoming trip in January but I'm not sure because DH is a very picky eater. Is it one TS or two?

Thanks again - I'm so glad that is hit us at the end of our trip rather than the beginning so we could enjoy ourselves! And I now know what a boniato is, so I can say that I had an educational experience at Disney!

I'm so glad that you had to look it up as well! :lmao: I didn't know if it was common knowledge or not and I was the only person that didn't know!

Great review of The Wave. I've just been thinking of putting this on my list for our upcoming trip in January but I'm not sure because DH is a very picky eater. Is it one TS or two?

It is one TS credit and I thought it was very worth it. My sister and I are a little bit picky as well so it was kind of on the verge of being too "out there" for us. But I ended up loving it! I think my sister may have liked hers more if she wasn't getting sick but I can't be totally sure!

Rosa Regalle is also my favorite. I always have a bottle or two in stock at home so I get my fix whenever the craving comes. ;)

I really enjoyed your review of Wave. I am somewhat hesitant in trying Wave. :confused3 However, I loved your pork and dessert.

I've been putting off writing the final post in my dining review because it seems so...well...final! :rotfl: And also because it's not very exciting! We were supposed to eat at Kouzzina for breakfast on our final day but ended up canceling because we realized that we would be pressed for time before our flight. I'm so glad that we decided not to do this because we both ended up not feeling so hot that morning  My sister started feeling icky right after our Kona breakfast the previous day and I started feeling a little bit icky after The Wave but more icky in the morning. I was still a little bit hungry so we went to Roaring Fork and had another Bounty Platter

It sat in my stomach like a brick but it wasn't because it wasn't yummy food, only because I wasn't feeling well!

After breakfast we had one last snack credit to use as well as one final CS credit. I asked at Roaring Fork how we could use the CS credit without actually buying a meal and the CM said that I could get a piece of fruit, a "snack" and a drink. And then I went to the gift shop and got some chocolate coins for my 4 year old niece to use the snack credit. Here is a picture of our random goodies.

And that brings me to the end my first dining review. It was so much fun!! This was quite possibly the best sisters vacation we've taken so far, it was amazing! :lovestruc The food was delicious, we only got really hangry once and Wilderness Lodge was everything we'd hoped. My next vacation will be my daughter and me (and the sausage of course!) and we'll be going on a Disney cruise, one day at Universal and two days at Disney so I'll definitely be doing another review even though it'll be a mishmash of stuff. Thanks to everyone for following along, I appreciate it!
This trip gets 3 sausages and an Aaron Rodgers! Go Pack!

So sad its all over! Thanks for your great reviews and pictures, cannot wait for your next trip!

Loved your reviews, sad that its over but at least we have another one on the horizon to look forward to!! Happy trails lil sausage!:thumbsup2
