Thats a great picture of you and your sisters! I wish I had something like that of my sisters, but one of mine is in oregon, one is in texas , and I'm in kentucky. You all really look alike too. I'm beginning to think I'm the oldest person who posts on these boards tho, looking at these pics!

Sis #1 lives in Alabama and sis#2 lives in Illinois.


I'm not having a good day today....nothing major...just disgusted with myself. No, i'm not giving up, I just wish I was losing weight. I know I'm feeling better, healthier....because of the running and working out, I just wish the scale would show something for my efforts. I weighed this morning, and i know i shouldn't have, and i'm back up to 165! WTH!! :confused3
I asked dh this morning if he's lost any weight and he said not a pound!! I know i have to change my eating habits, but i guess i don't know how...i'm not a cook... and don't really know where to begin on eating right...i know portion control, and have been doing better with that...i guess i need to eat more salads or something...

just one of those days i guess...i'll be fine.

Marie :grouphug: : Just read through your journal! You've got yourself on track AND your exercising. Maybe the lack of weight loss is muscle? I know that's a cliche but it is a fact!

BTW, your pictures are great!

Hang in there! Try not to get down on yourself....read back over the last few days of your journal and look at all the exercising you've done!!! That is really something to be proud of!!! :thumbsup2

Oh, and happy belated b'day! Your birthday was the same day as my sisters :).
 
Thanks AmyBeth! I appreciate it. I get kinda down because I feel like I'm never going to lose this weight!! I've done the perscription diet pills before, and they worked...if you can get past the scalp tingling, hot flashes and severe mood swings, and I don't want to do it that way again. I lost about 30 lbs. using them, then stopped and gained it right back....why....because I didn't learn how/what to eat, and I didn't really exercise. That's why I'm doing it the right way this time. It's just so tough on weigh day......ok...enough pity party....no one wants to hear it....we're all going through the same thing I'm sure!!

today.....
b-1 orange cinnamon roll (you know, the pillsbury kind)
s-3 fat free pringles (they're gone now)
l-grilled chicken sandwich on wheat w/ sweet tea (my weakness!)
s-nothing
d-2 small pieces of buffalo chicken tenders
s-nothing
water intake - only 30 oz...the tea distracted me... :confused3
exercise - walked about 2 blocks w/ dd6 - she wanted to do the 2 mile course, but I told her we would build up to that! :thumbsup2
resisted - chips & dip, candy drawer, more than one cinn roll

dh and i are gong to run in the a.m. since i have a wedding to shoot tomorrow afternoon/night. small wedding...should take about 4-5 hours.

talked to my dad tonight....for about 45 minutes....kinda strange....the man doesn't talk very much....must've caught him in a good mood.....it was really nice....ok...now i'm homesick!! :sad2:

Thats a beautiful picture of you and your sisters. You're so lucky!! I only had brothers and they are no darn good for help with dieting. Hang in there, Marie, the weight will come off! (Think of the alternative.)

Thanks Jane....I always wanted a brother when I was growing up, but now that I'm older I wouldn't trade my sisters for the world!! (growing up I would have given them away....actually, they tried to give me away, but that's another story!!) :rotfl:

ok...today was...ok i guess....got up and did a 3 mile walk w/ dh this morning. My lower back was KILLING me!! I had to stop and stretch several times. I told DH that I wasn't 37, I was 77!! My hearing is going, my eyesight is shot and my back hurts!!! WTH!! :confused3

d-chinese hey, I had a wedding to shoot and was STARVING afterward and picked it up on the way home...it's bad enough that it was chinese food, but I also ate it at 8:30 pm!!! :guilty: (we need a gasping smilie!)
water intake - 40 oz
exercise-3 mile walk this a.m. (45 minutes) and 20 minutes of stretching afterwards....(took at least 20 minutes for me to be able to stand up straight! it was REALLY hurting today!)

Hey Marie! :wave: Don't get too down, you are still doing great! :cheer2: Sorry to hear that your back has been hurting. That makes it rough when you are trying to do good and exercise.

You said you are not a cook. Do you cook sometimes? I am not that great at it myself and it is not something that I really look forward to. I have found a few ways to make things easier and better for us. The other day I made spaghetti, which is a staple of ours, & just added a bag of frozen italian style veggies to it. It was still Really good, but that much healthier. And it was quick & easy which is Very important! I'll try to think of some other easy ways to lower fat/calories & make things healthier and add them when I can. :sunny: Oh, also another way I stay out of the kitchen more is that I make BIG batches of stuff so that we can eat on it multiple times. If your family won't eat it w/in a few nights, then you can just freeze the extra and pull it out in a week or so.

I went to the grocery store today.... :sad2: spent $140.00!!
But boy oh boy do i have some fruits and veggies!! I got apples,oranges,grapes,bananas,tomatos,cucumbers,cauliflower,celery,zuccini (sp),carrots and sweet potatos!! oh yeah, salad fixins too! I also got some yogurt...not sure if i like yogurt or not, I'll let you know!! I also got some Lean Cuisine Skillet meals. Probably not very good, but I wanted to try them.
One thing I want to do is slice the zuccini long ways and put it in a skillet w/ some onions and other veggies....don't know why I want to do that, i just like grilled veggies!!
Just thought I'd share that with ya'll!! :rotfl:

What a great picture! Thanks for posting that, it is always nice to put a face to a name...

I highly suggest that you read the Body for Life for Women book. I'm sure you can find it at your local library if you don't want to buy it. It really helps with the mental aspect of losing weight and helps you get through some of the mind games women play...

You are doing great with your exercising and if you keep it up, the eating will fall into place and that weight will come flying off! Great job stocking up on all the fruits and veggies! :thumbsup2

Oh...I bought 2 cook books. Yes, I have some, (but never use) One is called "Betty Crocker's Eat and Lose Weight."...it has a bunch of healthy receipies in it, and it shows how many calories,fats, carbs and all that stuff is in each one. I've already marked a bunch that I'm going to try out this week. The other book I got is QUICK & HEALTHY VOLUME II. It has the healthy stuff too, but these are quick fixes. One I'm going to try (hopefully tomorrow) is called Zucchini Garden Casserole...i'll tell you more about it later, if it a)turns out and b) tastes good!

Great job on the workouts! Its not easy to stick with them when you're tired. Congrats! :woohoo: How did you ever talk dh into walking with you?!

Let us know how the new recipes turn out. I love the Eating for Life recipes. They're good and fast. I noticed that you ate buffalo chicken tenders. If you like them, the EFL book has a recipe for a spicy, buffalo chicken sandwich. I like it sliced up without the bun like chicken tenders. Dh loves it in a salad. They also have recipes for grilled chicken, chicken fajitas, quesadillas etc. It won't be long until everything falls into place for you & the weight comes off.

Congrats on the HUGE loss! What a great Monday it is!! :banana:

I make the lean cuisine skillet sensations (I think that's what they're called - the frozen-everythings-in-the-bag kind). We like them! I can't eat them right now, but DH really likes them. I haven't made the kids eat them because it's not a whole lot of food in that one bag. I usually stock up when they're on sale. I don't like paying $6 for a bag (that's the bargain shopper in me).

My nutritional plan has increased my grocery bill tremendously. But it's all about getting healthy, right? That's the main thing. So as long as we can afford it, then I'm gonna keep on keepin on. It's that darn produce that kills ya!

DH went to the fridge last night and saw all the fruits and veggies....he looked at me and said, "guess it's time to get serious, huh!" I laughed and said OH YEAH!! :woohoo: I bought some yogurt, but not sure if i'm gonna like it...i'll let you know.

sis#1-broken scale, gonna return it and get another new one,busy weekend, mind not on weighing. niece is doing good. sis #1 is given a reprieve this week.

sis#2-tried to get out of weighing this morning. said she was already dressed w/ shoes and everything. i told her i'd give her 3#'s for clothing...she wanted 5!! :lmao: ok...so she's at 183 so she's up 1.4. :guilty:

sis#3 (me! :teeth: ) -3!! 161!! yes, i'm happy about it!! i'm sooooo looking forward to being in the 150's!! seems like a lifetime ago that i was there!

$120.00 in the pot!! (although I really don't think anyone is paying in... :confused3 just a gut feeling!)

I knew today would be a good day!!

b-8oz chocolate milk & 1 banana
s-1 cini mini (maybe 1 inch square-just a bite size thingy)
l-caesar salad wrap-made it myself! really good!! w/ cucumbers and tomatos w/ light ranch dressing! everyone in the office was like...wow, that looks really good!!! (it was!)
s- nothing
d-Zucchini Garden Caserole w/ couscous. actually really good!! it's zucchini, tomatos,green peppers & red peppers all mixed together w/ 1/4 cup of light italian dressing....in the microwave for 10 minutes (in a covered dish,stirring every 3) i really liked it!! dh doesn't like veggies like that, so he's having pizza!!
water intake-40 oz....for some reason, i'm not getting enough water in. gotta kick that up!
exercise - 15 minutes of weights, leg lifts and crunches - felt great!!
resisted - more cini mini's, candy drawer, pizza (at work)

i feel pretty good about my food today....didn't overdo it on anything and i didn't give in to any temptations!! that was cool!!

dd6 had gymnastics tonight-she is doing so good!! will be doing back-hand springs in no time!! :cheer2: (just had to brag a little!)

ok....almost time for THE APPRENTICE!!! :rolleyes:

Excellent job on the eating! You are going to be in the 150's in NO TIME! I'm glad to see you are putting all those veggies to work for you!

Ooh, I love the Apprentice! I TiVo'ed it and haven't watched it yet, don't tell me what happens! :rotfl:

You have bragging rights for your kids! Gymnastics is great exercise. My DD6 does tap and ballet and soccer in the fall. I love keeping them active, but it gets kinda hectic sometimes... :tilt:
