Sirius/XM Renewal

I absolutely hate renewing my Sirius/XM subscription. I feel it ends up being a long bartering process with the Cancellation Dept.

I currently have 6 months for $24.99 (before tax and royalty fees)

Is anyone currently renewing at that rate? I was told the best they can do is $24.99 for 5 months (The representative told me that it is the same offer! Until I explained that it is the same price for one month less of service.)

I was told I could either renew at 5 months for $24.99 or they have a better deal of $84.99 for 12 months (plus taxes and royalty fees)!! I guess people don't do their math and fall for it.

Is there any code out there for $24.99 for 6 months?

Thanks! °0°

I just renewed for 6 mos at $24.99 last month.

I renewed several months ago and the best I could get was $24.99 for 5 months. For some reason their system is reluctant to give you exactly the same discount twice. My renewal date is Dec. 10. So I'll be interest what they offer then.

We let ours expire 2 months ago and I've been watching the offers come in. I finally got the 6 months for $25 in the mail yesterday. Before that they were not very good. It says when it expires, it will auto-renew at the standard price, but of course doesn't say what that is.

We bought two used vechicles w/ sirus last spring.
DD 201o Kia soul had service when we bout it but expired soon after.
DH F150 has a button but does nothing!

I called Sirius and they said they couldn't give me deal till I get a card?:confused3

I wanted to get them both service for an Xmas present at this point I ahve no idea when I will get a discount card!!

This is one of the reasons that I did not renew. I was not happy about them charging different prices to different customers. Yes, I realize the cable/internet/phone companies do it as well, but they kind of have you because you need a communication line. I do not however need Sirius. I have a large collection of my own music and I subscribe to Pandora for $3 a month and the whole family can use it.

We got the 6 months for $24.99 a couple of weeks ago. I have no problem quitting if they won't give it to me, I just hate playing the game every 6 months!

I'm glad I found this. We just got our renewal notice for early Dec. All this haggling gets so old. Dh really loves it and it was originally a Christmas gift for him so I feel bad to cut it off. His commute is much longer than mine; I barely have time to listen to an entire song.

I just called this morning and renewed for same deal I got last which is 24.99 for 5 months. I have two radios, total with tax was almost $60.
I hate calling them, wish they could do a year at the lowest price instead of having to call every 5 months to play the game.

I agree. They have the worst Customer Service Dept. It is almost impossible to get a representative in the United States. They don't listen and keep telling about the great deals they have which is multiple times more expensive than our current plan.

I renewed at 24.99/5 months because I just couldn't get t
24.99/6 months. I tried speaking with the Cancellation Dept several times.

I am begining to feel this way about Disney. Some people getting pin codes for free dining, others not. I don't think it is good business for any any one.
I would be upset to know I paid more than the person in front to me in line at Target just because they gave her a code and not me.

I did cancel my Xm radio for the same reason.
I don't need it. Nice to have but not necessary.

I just got a year for $35 which was the "first time subscription" deal on my husband's car.

And I almost didn't pay that and told my husband to cancel it. He HAS Pandora and an iPhone.

Did you have to get a card or just call? I have called 2x and they say wait for a card or pay full price!

As I posted in another Sirius/XM thread the other day. I just got 6 months for $30. When I was done with the first girl I asked to speak to someone else who could authorize a lower rate. Call again and ask to speak to a supervisor, tell them you are willing to give them your business and if they don't want it ask to speak to their supervisor. A PITA to play the game but tell them you know of a lot of people paying $30 for 6 months and you want the same rate.

Am I missing something here? I got my renewal notice which is $196 for the year plus $20 in music royalty fees and $40 for Internet radio? Where are the $24 for 6 months coming from?

I didn't get the $24 deal until I let it expire. Once you do that, they start lowering the price. I continued to ignore them for 2 months until the $24 offer came.

Mine was $16 a month. I told them I wanted to cancel and they gave me two months free. After the two months I was tired of fighting with my teens over listening to 80s on 8 and called to cancel. They said they would suspend it until February so I did not have to pay another activation fee (didn't have to pay the first one) since I wanted to get it back in Feb for our trip to Disney. I wish I had seen this before and had flat out cancelled to get the good offers.

I called just yesterday to ask for the $25 for 6 month deal. I have been doing this for a couple of years :)

They wouldn't give it to me. They told me the best they could do was $28 for 5 months. When I told her then go ahead and cancel and when they mail me the card I will get the $25 for 6 months then. She offered me 2 months for free :confused3 soo, ill call again in two months....

Is this a car only subscription? I'm wondering if those are priced different than my radio which is at my office.
