Sinus surgery???

Have an ENT appt on Fri. Based upon the CAT scan of my sinuses, reg. doc thinks ENT will insist on tubes in my ears & probably sinus surgery. Anyone ever have sinus surgery? What is involved? Did it help?

I had it in 1999 and it made a huge difference. I had scar tissue from a lot of infections and was getting a few SEVERE sinus headaches a week with vomiting from the pain. The surgery was NOT fun, but worth it. At home after the operation I felt as if someone were slamming a hammer into my head...but I should have asked for pain meds! BE sure you do!

I had the surgery in 1994. It was very, very uncomfortable and made me very sick. I do think that it is a much easier surgery these days however.

I will tell you though, that I have not had a sinus infection since my surgery. I literally had one after the other for years and practically lived on antibiotics and decongestants.

So it was definitely worth it
