Single night on 1/9 in a 2 bedroom standard view at the GF Waitlist

Anyone had any luck in a successful waitlist during marathon week in January for a single night in a 2 bedroom? I have a studio booked (on 1/9) for the first night of a 4 night long reservation in a standard two bedroom at the GF. I decided last night that I would be willing to spend the extra points to not have to switch rooms on 1/10 to the 2 bedroom (family is joining us but not until the 10th). Has anyone ever had success in a waitlist coming through during marathon weekend for one single night? I am not getting my hopes up but when I talked with members services this morning, they mentioned that there might be chance up to 7 days before...so we will see. I wonder if there is some movement at the 31 day mark.

I have no idea on the chances of a room becoming available. Even if a room does become available, though, you may still need to change rooms depending on how the other rooms have been booked and assigned. If the waitlist does come through, it wouldn't hurt to call Member Services to put a note on the reservation that you have another 2-bedroom reservation for subsequent nights to increase the chances of being in the same room.

Yes, agreed--member services told me to keep an eye on it for that reason as well. They put a note on the reservation to link them but also encouraged me to call them if it came through to ensure that it could be linked. I have no idea if my chances are good but was hoping someone had a good story to share!

I have had great luck with one night waitlists at all times of the year….but can’t say it was ever that weekend…but the week right after….definitely keep checking regularly.
