Hello and :welcome: to my second ever PTR. I am super excited, because (for the next few hours at least) I have 3 countdown tickers going on. Tomorrow night we are headed up to DL for Mickey's Halloween Party and a stay at GC. Then this December 7-15, I am taking my very first Mommy and Me Christmas trip with my DD(3). It's her very first time at WDW!! And now...I am planning my BIRTHDAY WITH THE ::MickeyMo

THE CAST:

ME! Brandy (the Birthday Girl) :bday:

I will be at WDW during my 32nd birthday AND Valentines Day!! What I didn't realize when I booked this trip was that it is the same as my very first time at WDW. Only that time I was celebrating my 20th birthday. My, how history repeats itself. And either way, who can think of a better place to spend your birthday??

:rockband:

DD(3) Lily Belle

This was a recent trip to DL out here in California. She was dancing along to our favorite parade, Celebrate! A Street Party. This little girl is my perfect little princess, and yet has a tendency to go Goth!! :lmao: Her favorite color is black!! She loves to have her nails painted black. :sad2: She's one of the rare 3 year olds that love The Haunted Mansion. And now that it is decked out for the Holiday's with the gang from Nightmare Before Xmas, she is totally excited. She loves horses (especially black ones) . She loves Disney. Her favorite rides are HM, SW, Tea Cups, Tiki Room, Matterhorn, Pirates, Pooh, and she loves to watch Fantasmic. She is energetic, polite, outgoing and has unfortunately inherited my tendency to bump into walls and trip over invisible objects while walking. :headache: :lmao: This will be her second trip to the World.

DM(I'll save myself a beating and not post her age) :rolleyes1

She also LOOOOVES Disney. She's been married to my dad for 41 years now and they are living happily ever after each day. And to make sure they KEEP living that way, she's going to the World without him on this trip!! :lmao: :rotfl:

Wanna see something freaky?? Here we are a few years back when I had my hair cut short. Can you believe...we didn't plan this???

Also a major Disney lover, and ALSO celebrating her birthday on this trip, she works for Continental Airlines (United) and travels all around the world. She has been to Paris twice, and took me along on the second trip. :hyper: Together, we plan to eventually visit ALL of the Disney Parks around the world!! :woohoo: She is also married, but will ALSO be leaving her DH at home for this trip. Since she lives in Houston, we don't see her as often as we would like to, but we make our trips worth while with DISNEY!!

Since all the ladies are leaving their men at home, and going along with DD's love of the Beyonce song "Put a Ring on It", we have hereby dubbed this trip...

SINGLE LADIES "WORLD" TOUR

I am very excited to be going to the world for my birthday and also for Valentines day. Who doesn't love Valentines Day?? Our dates are Feb 11-16. This will be mine and DD's second trip in 3 months. :cool1: I never thought that would be something I could do!! DC will actually be going home on the 13th and DM, DD and I will be staying on until the 16th.

Please join us as we plan, book, count down, anticipate and eagerly await our fantastic trip!!

Okay, here we go...

As you may know, I have a trip to WDW planned for this December with my DD. Well, i was reading the DIS Boards the other day (which can be dangerous!! :lmao: ) I stared to hear about upgrading your tickets into AP's. Intrigued, I looked into it. Well, I was shocked to find that once I arrive, i could upgrade our tickets to AP's for around $300 total. Not only would that give us more opportunities for me to be spontaneous with Disney trips, but it would also upgrade our base tickets in December to park hoppers!! :woohoo: For days though, I wondered if I should do it. Would it be worth it? Will I actually be able to make it out there again within a year? Am I being too irresponsible? I thought on it for a few days. What sealed the deal happened this week.

I had been pondering a birthday trip to the world in February. My bday is on the 12th, so for the last few days I have been looking at airfare. As luck would have it, I get an email from Southwest Airlines saying that they're having a sale for the next three days. So I start playing with dates and wondering if a second trip this soon after my December trip would actually be feasible. I also am wondering who will want to come on this trip since I am leaving EVERYONE at home except for DD in December. Well, by the time I decide that I may be able to make this work, all forms of Disney travel booking are cut off. They closed early on Tuesday at 1pm, and weren't going to reopen until Thursday morning. :badpc: And I don't want to book flights only to find out that all the resorts are booked up and I have nowhere to stay!!

So this morning, DVC is open again!! The CM I spoke with on the phone said pretty much every resort was wide open…except of course for BLT. :headache: Now, there are several places I am dying to stay. Beach Club :beach: would be one of them because of their awesome pool. But, since we’re going in Feb, I don’t think we’ll be spending much time swimming. So why even tempt myself, or my 3 year old for that matter? The other place I want to stay is Boardwalk. It just looks so super cool. I can imagine that Boardwalk View at night. Mmmmm… :cloud9:

Anyway, what I decided on was Villas at Wilderness Lodge. A few of my main reasons are
1. Proximity to MK
2. We can take a boat and not the stinking busses over to MK, which is where we will most likely spend most of our days.
3. Electric Light Pageant!!!
4. View of fireworks from the beach…right?? Can you see them from there??
5. Proximity to FW. As (I think) I’ve previously mentioned, DD LOVES horses, so I know she would love to be able to go over and maybe take a pony ride. We can also do Chip & Dales Campfire Sing Along. I’m thinking of trying this out in December, but just incase we don’t make it, I am glad to know we’ll now have another chance!

I would also love to try out that restaurant they have there. Someone refresh my memory??

So, VWL all booked up, I started looking for airfare. The cheap flights that existed on Southwest were now not cheap anymore. Aarg!!! Why did the DVC have to be closed during SW’s sale??? :sad2: So, I look at American Airlines. Eureka!! I found non-stop flights from LAX to MCO on the day I want to leave for $135 p/p. BUT…the return flight was $227. :scared1: *makes a buzzer sound* Wrong! I don’t want to pay that much. So, back over to Southwest to look at their return flights. BAM!!! Same price as the sale yesterday. $140 p/p. We change planes in Houston, but that doesn’t scare me too much because ALL of our extended family lives in Houston…so it wouldn’t be a bad place to get stuck overnight. :grouphug:

I decided to go LAX – MCO on American, and MCO – LAX on Southwest. Book it Dan-O!! :woohoo:

I call up my mom and tell her about the rates I found, she JUMPS on it and decides to come too. My cousin, who works for Continental Airlines (now United), is handling her own flights.

So here we are...all booked up and ready to start the fun part. Planning. Well, DC and I were discussing today ADR's. I'm not much of a foodie, but Disney does offer some very interesting venues. DC and I discussed trying to Le Cellier and seeing what all the fuss was about. And guess what?? I was actually able to get us a rezzie for lunch on 2/13. :cheer2: That out of the way, we disussed eating at CRT. DC has never eaten there, and I mentioned I would love to have breakfast in there on my bday. Well, I found us a reservation time slot, but CRT requires an upfront payment. I'm sorry, but I was unprepared to shell out $174 today!! So, back to the drawing board. I'll have to figure something out. I was supposed to call Disney Dining tonight and talk to them, but I was out late getting a few things for our DL trip for Trick or Treat tomorrow night, and also getting a little something for my boss for Bosses Day.

Oh man, let me mention how cool my boss is. Everyone at work knows I am a Disney freak. Everyone at work is also a playful prankster. They all comment all the time about the Disney pens I have on my desk. My boss always does a double take when I hand him one to sign something. Well, the other day he was being silly and laid the paper I had handed him on the floor and just dropped the pen down onto it to make a mark instead of a signature. While we all laughed at his silliness, when he picked the pen up, he noticed that the impact with the carpeted floor had pushed the ink dispensing part almost all the way back up into the pen!! I didn't give him any grief over it, because he has always been a good boss to me and he didn't intentionally harm the pen. But apparently it plagued him all day. Finally he came up to me and said "How can I make this broken pen up to you?" So, keeping with the silliness of the office, I said "Send me to Disney World next year." He says "Well, how about if I pay for your dinner at the Goofy's pizza place you're going to this weekend."

**History: Now, my family and friends all love to eat at Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. My favorite thing they serve is the Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza. I once told my boss about this and he looked at me in disgust. So, it has become a joke with a few of us about this pizza. He knew, because I never shut up about Disney, that I had reservations for my mom and DD to eat at Goofy's Kitchen the morning after we trick or treat.**

So after I close my gaping mouth, I say "But, I'm taking my mom and daughter with me." He says "Well that's okay. Just expense it."  :dance3:

I have the greatest boss on earth!!!

Alright. Doing my 3 dance today. My ticker tells me it is 3 Months 3 Weeks and 3 Days until our Feb trip!!! :woohoo:

I'm having to make some changes to my December trip in order to compensate for this Feb trip. I am downgrading our DlxDP to ...undecided. QS or DDP. Paying for another round of airfare this soon took a big chunk of my December finances, add to it that I will be upgrading our Dec 8day base tickets to AP's for DD and I. :headache: *ouch*

I am saddened at the loss of my DlxDP, but I am looking forward at our added trip. :yay:

I'm here! I didn't realize you had started a separate PTR for you Feb. trip. I've just been commenting on your other one! I think I've already commented on all the details except.. did I mention that I'm SOOO jealous you're staying at Wilderness Lodge! I really want to stay here some time.

Yippie!! I have a follower!!! :yay: I know, I have been trying to get this hotel for my December trip but to no avail. I was never really interested in it before, but I was reading some really fun things about it (mostly about Christmas time there though :sad1: ) and it seems like a great place. My DREAM would be to stay at Poly, but since it is not a DVC resort, even with points it is pricey!! So, that day may never come. I'd like to take DD to the Beach Club some time in the warmer months. That would be a great joy if I could work ANOTHER trip in this year. :rolleyes1 :cutie:

I joining in too. popcorn::

Congrats on getting the wilderness lodge. My family is going in January, and we tried to book a WLV (our home resort) last month it was all booked so we'll have to make do with SSR instead .

By the way you are going to LOVE the WL, especially in the cooler months. The pool is awesome, the electric water pageant is great, and it has an amazing lobby. And I think you're talking about the Wispering Canyon as the restaurant you want to try, which is delicious.

:lmao: Sounds like our trips are reversed. For my December trip I have been calling everyday to try to get WL but they are all booked up, so I am stuck at my home resort of SSR. :rotfl: I'm at least glad to get to go in Feb now though.

And yes, WC is the restaurant I was thinking of. Thank you. I've heard it is tons o' fun!

But of course. :lmao: It always seems like what you want is available for every time but when you want it. I'm excited to try SSR for the first time, though I will miss the fireplace in the WL lobby. :goodvibes

So where's my invitation to the party ? :)

After all MY birthday is Feb 25th :P

I know when Erinlee and I went 2009 for my birthday it was DEAD!! And I can't wait to go again in Feb.It was a little too cold for me but oh well..an almost empty park makes it worth it ;)
