Since we are all getting reaquinted - tell us about yourself - newbies and veterans!

Okay, I guess it's my turn.

My name's Matthew. Originally from a small "blink and you'll miss it" town in northwest Georgia called Calhoun, but now residing in "duck or you'll get shot" Richmond, Virginia. I moved here about 6 years ago because of my job -- I work as a sales rep for Beaulieu of America, a GA-based carpet manufacturer. Shortly thereafter, I met Lauri and we got married in November of 1999.

We started pin trading on our honeymoon and it's been a long crazy trip (actually several long crazy trips to WDW and a few short ones, too) ever since. So we don't end up in a box next to Ed, I've cut back my collecting to the Ducks, Chip and Dale, some Toy Story, and patriotic pins

My screen name is thanks to someone on the DIS. When I first signed up in April 2000 I used MZDavis, which was my name on AOL for the longest time, but Lauri and I would post under the same name. Then Lauri and I were invited to join the DIS mod team, and after thoroughly confusing everyone on the boards to the point where they didn't know which of us was posting, we decided to adopt separate names.

Lauri's was easy -- MeanLaureen. I thought about keeping the MZDavis name, or going with something like MatthewZD, but I wanted something a bit more imaginative. Someone suggested Obi-Wan Pinobi -- a combination of two hobbies, Disney pins and Star Wars.

Aside from Disney pins, another collection I have is comic books, which I've been reading since I was a kid.

I also like to taunt Ed with the big red button. Sometimes it keeps him in line (but not often).

Hi! My name is Winnie, and I'm a pin-a-holic!

I am married to a wonderful guy named Fred. We will be married 20 years this July. WOW! That's hard for me to believe. Time really does fly when you're having fun, and we've had lots of fun!!
We met on a singles trip from our church at EPCOT. He was a mechanic, and I was a girl in need of a car AC. He felt sorry for me, and fix it for FREE!! I was panicked when he said he was gonna fix it, as I was poor single girl. He said not to worry, the Lord will take care of it. A week later, we were on a short trip to Deland and my water pump went out. I felt horrible, Once more he told me not to worry and kissed me! That was it, I fell!! That was in august of 1983. In november that year he left for Navy boot camp. He asked me if I'd wait for him. I said you betcha!! He came home in April of 1984 after "A" School, we went and got my engagement ring.

We were married on July 28th and honeymooned at WDW. And we spend every anniversary there. It is our magical place and we love it.

I've been into Pooh for over 30 years, so I've always been into Disney. But now it is something special that we share. We got into pin collecting in April of 2001. We were at DTD at WOD and Fred found the 3 Pooh puzzle pins and thought they were cute and bought them for me. That did it. We then began hanging around the trade table there, and watched and listened.

It was there we found out about pin boards. ALthough I didn't find out about this one, till I had been "banded" from a site this is now gone. I think that proves I wasn't the one with the problem...AHEM!! LOL!

Anyhoo, we love this pin addiction, and primarily because of the friendships it has made us. Mainly people who are on this board. You know who you are!! When we first started it was about getting as many pooh pins as I could. But since meeting these wonderful pin friends, it's more about, when can I get back to WDW to see these guys and spend more time with them and chat and catch up. They have been so supportive and just plain wonderful. I could never thank them enough.

Blessings,
Winnie
