Since no more DME, do you all still notify resort of early arrival?

We will probably be at resort (if things go as planned) around 11:30 am. Is there still a way to let the resort know arrival times? I only knew that to be the case when scheduling Magical Express.

It's not that big of deal because we can leave bags with guest services, but if we can get a room early, that would be nice. :)

You tell them your ETA and if you wish to have a room ready early as your preference over room requests you can tell them this also. It's done during online check in

As the others have said, you can note it in the app when you do check in. No guarantee but you might get your room early. We got our room ready text at Pop around 11:45 am on a Saturday and around 11:00 am the next day at Yacht Club.

Never having done the online check-in, how early can you do early check-in?

As soon as you've linked your reservation to your MDE account. It's basically a way of getting the check-in stuff done in advance - credit card for charging to your room, contact information (text or email for getting room assignment), room requests (leave blank if submitting requests via other means), expected time of arrival, etc.

So by doing it now all I'm doing is updating the information they need? And I assume that, by having my arrival date in the system, they're not going to offer me a room now. :teeth: I half-joke about checking in now and Disney offering me a room, but I'm a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to technology. I get it, technology makes life easier, but I'm not always 100% sold on it. To this day I still print out my boarding passes when I fly because I'm paranoid the electronic boarding pass on my phone won't work. Ok, enough of me and technology. Basically this boils down to me being able to update my information in their system. Got it. :thumbsup2 Thanks.

We have always rented a car as we take a few days to do other area attractions and take an early flight so at check in put in for early arrival. Sometimes we have gotten our room # on the way and other times kept getting the room is not ready message so when that happened we went the front desk and luckily were able to find one for us. That may not always happen.

Yes, you’re updating the info. If you prefer to go straight to your room & not stop at the front desk, checking in online makes sure they have the credit card info on file so you can do that. You can also put in what time you expect to arrive at the resort to help with room assignments. So if you’re expecting to get to the resort early, they may be able to assign you a room that’s ready early too.

But you don’t need to do online check in at all if you don’t want to. Just go to the front desk & check in the traditional way. You may have a little wait depending on what time you arrive as it seems like most places have less staff at the front desk. And your room may not be ready early. But those things always happened before anyway.
