Was there anything you were surprised to find out when you went for the first time?

Me, for example, thought Sleeping Beauty's castle would be MUCH bigger.princess:

I am trying to think back 17 months to our first visit. The only thing I remember being surprised at was the honesty of of the general public. I suppose I am becoming quite the cynic in my older age, but really, I was pleasantly surprised at how honest people seemed to be. Example: I lost the little book I had that had all of our tickets (admission, character meals, etc) in and when I was working with the people at customer service a little boy was there reporting that he had lost a bag full of change and money, about $150 worth. Anyway, happily my item and this little boys money were returned fully intact within moments of being lost. It really is the happiest place on earth:thumbsup2

the first time I went to DL was in 2004. I had been to WDW in Florida a few times...but not since 1995 (I was 14 years old then.) I suppose I also thought the castle would be a bit bigger like the castle in Florida. Disneyland was also smaller with less grass than I thought it would have...haha. I always remembers all the open grassy areas at WDW so I found it odd that there weren't many at DL.
