Simon is an American Idol judge, which is the American counterpart to "Pop Idol", which he also judged I believe. Simon is very direct with the pop star wannabes, which causes a lot of friction with the other two judges, especially with Paula Abdul. Basically, Simon is the General George S. Patton of critics!
Anyway, Americans can't stand him. We think he's too cold and heartless to the show's contestants. I, on the other hand, think that it might be a cultural difference. Am I correct to assume that Brits tend to be more direct and to-the-point than Americans?
