So I'm mainly a meat and potatoes kinda guy and am looking for another place that is similar to Le Cellier. Basically just a REALLY good filet or NY Strip and fries/mashed potatoes....perhaps a nice glass of wine or beer.

Also, what about toddler places to eat? My daughter LOVED the Crystal Palace, but was looking for some thing a little more low key aka a tad cheaper. LOL

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!!

Do you have a car or are you relying on Disney transportation? That makes a difference as to the places that will be recommended. People who have their own cars can more easily dine at various resorts as opposed to feeling like they need to dine in the parks.

Sorry to say you aren't going to find a cheaper "place like Crystal Palace", all character meals are $$.
And to be honest, eating on WDW property isn't cheap anywhere.

Now as for meat and potatoes, I can say that Whispering Canyon Cafe has an AWESOME NY Strip! We always eat here and I always get the steak entree, as bbq isn't my strong suit. And I have never been disappointed with it.

Ohana is another beef eaters paradise. It is an all you can eat, family style meal. No menu, everyone gets the same foods and sirloin on skewers is one of them. It is usually brought well done, so I tell the server ahead of time to bring me medium rare and she/he does.
No potatoes though, lomein noodles, potstickers, sticky wings, salad and a veggie mixture is the main meal. Along with the other meats...chicken, pork and peel and eat shrimp. You can skip anything or eat as much as something as you want.

Turf Club Grill at Saratoga has an awesome strip and prime rib.
Coral Reef has a NY Strip that is great as well.

Good luck and enjoy!!

If you dont mind paying the money or using the meals - Yachtsman Steakhouse is awesome at the Yachtclub and so is Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian - both have awesome food and steaks

Well, Yachtsman Steakhouse is a step above Le Cellier in quality, but you won't get a break in price there. It's also a signature, so it might come off a bit stuffier than you are looking for.

For quality that is just as good as Le Cellier, with a kid-friendly atmosphere and a good steak, I'd recommend the Grand Floridian Cafe.

Sorry, this will be using Disney transport.

Ohana was quite good as well, just looking in for other options. The yacht club sounds good. :)

As far as price it's not a big deal for either (steak or kids place). I just hate paying for a group of us when it's mostly for my daughter. Problem was we paid for 6 of us to eat and only one person really ate while the rest of us were there just for pics. Again, I didn't mind since it was more for her than the rest of us.

At which resort are you staying?

Trying to keep you close to the parks...on your MK day, you could boat over to the WL and have strip steak at the WCC (Whispering Canyon Cafe) which should be fun for your daughter, as well. Nine of us had ribeye and strips at GFC (Grand Floridian Cafe at the GF) and without fail, everyone of them was a miserable failure, so even though someone above mentioned going there, I cannot recommend it. The steaks were for our 25th wedding anniversary and we also had an incredible custom cake served for that event--it was a really "big deal" to us. The steaks were uniformly terrible! Kona Cafe at the Poly is easily reached from the MK. They have a teriyaki steak there, that while not overly tender, is very tasty. That restaurant is another good bet with a toddler.
Epcot--I personally think the best steak in that area is if you exit out through the International Gateway toward the Boardwalk, FF has a great steak. Some have called it the best steak on property. It is certainly a little more expensive than what you paid at Le Cellier. It is a pretty adult oriented restaurant...no loud kiddos. Same with Yachtsman which is on the opposite side of that lake out of Epcot.
