Hi crafters!
I usually hang out on the budget board, but they sent me over here for this question. I have recently begun more crafts for holidays/school parties/ etc., and keep seeing the words Silouhette and Cricut floating around the craft blogs out there. Can you recommend the machine I would need if I want to cut out words and shapes (pumpkins, ghosts, etc), in vinyl and paper. Mostly for invites, cupcake toppers, garlands, etc.
From what I understand, both machines are pricey and I am also looking for a website that offers deals.
Also, do both machines require extra purchases? (cartridges)
Thank you for helping!

I have the Silhouette (it connects directly to your computer or you can get the one that will cut from a sd card) and it will cut any font you have on your computer without the purchase of extra cartridges. If you can find the shape online somewhere you can cut it for free as well. They have shapes you can purchase through their store, but usually if you search you can find what you need.

As for deals, you just missed the 20% off special on the silhouette site. They have coupon codes quite often if you keep a look out.
