silly southwest policies! (travel funds)

Wanted to give an update.
I called today & now was told it's $50 for each person to extend the credits. So not worth it at all. I am frustrated b/c I was previously told by SWA that it would be $50 charge to extend all credits under 1 confirmation #, not each person. I will call back on a different day & see what that person says. I hate being told 2 diff things.

Hi Nemofans, your answer is no, you will not have a new credit date. But given that you have an 108.00 credit, the 50.00 extension fee would come off the top saving you 58.00 to use toward a new flight, provided you actually use it. Now, if there is a good chance that you would not use it, then you can consider selling it, giving it to a friend or family member who can use it, or even barter (spell check) the credits with someone. I have bartered my credits with the person who cuts my hair a few times. She gets SWA credit and I get x amount of hair cuts free, everyone comes out a-head (not pun intended!):dance3:

As of January, 2011, SWA is changing their policy. Only the person who was given the credits can use the credits. No more selling, bartering or trading allowed. The name on the ticket must match the name on the credit.

Do you think this is for Credits you receive after Jan. 2011 or any credits you might already have.
