Silly Question...Getting to your room at OKW

We are a party of 15, ranging in age from 7 months to 64 years, staying at OKW in less than 6 weeks:cool1:. I've stayed there twice, once with a car in the Turtle Pond area and once with a car right across from the HH (building 12).

For this trip, we have no car and we are using DME. We have 2 boxes that we are sending ahead of time and we will have our strollers, car seat and luggage in tow...along with the 7 kids:flower3:. My question is...how do we all get to our villa from the HH after we check in? I know that those little golf carts won't hold all of us and our gear. Does bell services deliver the luggage to the room? Do we just hop on one of the internal buses? It seems like such a silly question:rolleyes2.

Leave your luggage with bell services to deliver. They might offer to take you to the room on one of the carts if your room is ready right away. You can always have some of the group take the internal bus to your room.

Will Bell Services deliver it right away? I ask because we are landing at 2pm at MCO and taking DME. I always overestimate on time so I am figuring that we will get to OKW by 4pm. We have dinner at T-Rex at DTD at 6pm so we will want to freshen up and change ASAP. We won't have a lot of time to wait for bell services to deliver our carry-on luggage so we might have to bring it ourselves.

I think if your room is ready and you are as well they will try to unless they are over extended. I would think you might be cutting a dining ressie short anyway with a 6 PM reservation and a 2 PM landing. I never assume any airline is going to be ontime.

I also think your timing is cutting it close. We got to ride in a golf cart to our room when we went for the first time without a car. If I remember correctly we kept our carry on stuff with us, because I had packed the swimsuits in them and wanted immediate access to them before ME delivered our luggage. I remember getting to the room and immediately heading to pool.

If you are checking bags into the DME system, they will be delivered right to your room - but , as noted, it's wise to have things you will need for the first few hours with you since the DME bags can take several hours to arrive in your villa. Otherwise, just allow the Bell staff to assist with everything. They have the golf carts as well as large vans and can accommodate your group even if it takes multiple trips from the front desk area. They will take your carryon bags right with you in whatever vehicle they have available at that time.

With a 2pm arrival you should easily be at the resort before 4pm. From there you can catch either a bus (they come about every 20 minutes) or boat (30 minute schedule) to DD and on to T-Rex. You should be fine to make a 6pm dinner.

Good luck! :)

You can also just walk to your room if it is ready. Depending on where in the resort you are staying it is less than a 10 min. walk. If you only have carry-ons you can have that much stuff for everyone to carry their own bag (unless they are in a stroller.) Also, remember to pack light. I found that I used to over pack and have really scaled down what I bring.

I also think you have plenty of time to get to your ressie as long as your flight lands on time.

Thanks everyone!

We are shipping 2 boxes ahead, one with diapers, formula and baby food and the other with a bunch of dry goods for the adults. We won't be able to carry these to our room if we walk. My family of 4 (2 DD's ages 6 and 8) will be fine hauling our own bags. The girls know the rule...if they can't manage it themselves, they don't bring it. They each have a small rolling carryon and a small duffel/boarding bag.

The rest of the gang, particularly my sister's family (DD's ages 3 and 7 months) will have a more difficult time hauling kids and luggage. They have 2 strollers and a car seat, in addition to whatever luggage they bring as carryons. On top of that, they'll have the kids! I highly doubt they will be able to walk to the room unless it is REALLY close to the HH, which we didn't book.

Our flight is actually scheduled to land at 1:41pm. but I figure it will take us at least 20 minutes to wrangle everyone together and take a potty break before heading down to board the DME bus. I'm also planning a worst-case scenario that we get there and the bus is too full to accomodate our entire group. We are not willing to split up so we'd have to wait for the next one.

...only 46 more days:dance3:!
