Yes, it's someone who likes to stir up trouble by posting inflammatory or controversial posts or topics. Then when people star responding, they really start

and then sit back and have a good laugh at what they are doing, as people start going after each other.

We aren't allowed to call people trolls here,

because people would be calling each other trolls every time we disagreed with each other.

We just have to learn:

It's ultimately up to the Mods to determine if there is a troll among us. They usually have the "joy" of babysitting certain threads

until they can put on a lock.

Hehe... that's often the crux of the issue: Some folks who don't like someone disagreeing with them, or otherwise posting something that they disagree with, will often try to cast that other poster as a troll, but in such cases, the act of trying to label on-topic disagreement is actually the trolling going on. Trolling necessarily must be insincere.
