ok i will apologies before i start, i am new to all this Disney malark, we have been to disney paris but we have never before travelled to america.
we not going untill Oct 2011 so i know i am early but i had a question about the dinning plans, when on the Disney web site it says while staying in the hotels you can get free meals, is this only for those who book through that website or if i book with my local travel agent will we get that deal also? also if we dont get the deal is it worth adding that to our package or is it just as easy just to buy and eat as we go.

The free dining varies depending on which disney hotel you select. The value hotels get nothing, the moderates get quick service dining plan and the deluxe hotels get the normal dining plan.

You don't necessarily need to book through disney to get the offer as you can obtain it through other operators but just be sure to check that they include it. Also many operators make you purchase their disney tickets to qualify for the offer

The condition of the offer is that you have to book a Disney Hotel and Ticket package, either with Disney UK or as part of a packaged deal through a travel agent.

Note that this year, a lot of people (us included) got a good deal at Old Key West which was the same price as the moderate hotels but included the Disney ("normal") Dining Plan as opposed to the Quick Service Plan. Not sure if you would be able to get this through a package deal, but I believe at least one travel agent has offered this option for 2011.

We booked with Virgin Holidays for October 2011 and we got the free dining plan at AKL, the only condition was that we had to book our Disney tickets with them as well. They were about £20 more each than other places we could have got them but it wasn't a problem as we could have the free dining plan
