silly question about RVs and "humming"

I have a silly question that I hope doesn't somehow upset anyone. We're a tenting / cabining family, not an RVing family. When we go to a campground, we have always stayed in a cabin/yurt area or a tents-only area. We're staying at a FW cabin in December and I'm thinking about requesting one of the cabins in the 100 loop (yes, I know it would be a long shot!). I know that the loop will be comprised almost entirely of RVs and I'm wondering two things - 1) do the cabins have any privacy (actually, that's a general curiosity for all loops with cabins) and more importantly, 2) is there really a low "humming" sound emitted by the RVs? If there is a humming sound, is it more like white noise or more like a mosquito buzzing around you? I've heard references to this in various places, but I don't really know what it means. Thanks in advance! :)

The only hum I hear from my trailer (unless you are talking about the AC unit) is from the power inverter inside the trailer, which you can't hear from outside anyway. When the water heater kicks on or the furnace (if it's cold) there is a low roaring sound while the unit is on. I really don't think any of these noises would bother you in a cabin, however.

The only hum that I am aware of is the A/C units on the RV's , but that isn't much different than a A/C unit onna cabin for noise.

The two Cabins that you speak of in the 100 Loop are next to a major walkway leading to the trading post. The last time we were there people were using this walkway for golf carts both motorized and electric. If you want privacy we have stayed in the other cabin loops which are much more quiet.

As the other posters stated the only Humm you would hear from rv's would be the a/c or my loud kids humming..

Thanks all. You've got me to wondering if the RV humming I've read about here and there might be related to running a generator of some sort where there aren't electical hook-ups???

In any event, you've been very helpful, and I'd very much look forward to hearing some kids' humming coming out of an RV! :goodvibes

Generators are pretty loud, but you won't get any of that at FW.

Unless the power goes out. LOL One night the power went out. I went outside to take a peek. Total silence and pitch black. Then, one by one, I heard the generators starting. It was so funny.

Course, it may be those morons a loop or two over runn'n pressure washers all day long washing RV's and destroying my vacation at the Fort with their noise.
A few loops away it may sound like a humm.

I hear more air conditioner noise INSIDE my motorcoach than outside of it. I'm always nervous when we come back to the RV that somehow the air conditioner stopped working and my poor dog is inside in the heat...but when I open the door the air is working fine. We walk and bike the loops a lot and I don't think I've ever really heard noise coming from any of the RVs at the Fort.

Hope that helps.
