So my 3 year old is in this Peanut Butter & Jelly diet. It is the ONLY thing he likes for lunch.

I know they sell it at the parks, but we have never bought it before. My question is: Do they actually make it or is it one of those pre-packed Smuckers sandwich?

He doesn't like white bread. Only whole wheat multi grain. :sad2:

The only experience we have with PB&J in the parks is the painter pallete at Carnation Cafe. They serve it on a pallete with toppings in little cups, I am pretty sure it was white bread though. We always bring Uncrustables in, so worst case you could always make some sandwiches and bring them in.

Not silly. I have a PB&J kid too. Sometimes it can be a huge pain. In most of the restaurants they are cheapo uncrustables, but at the Carnation Cafe it's a build it yourself painters palate. My kids like pbj's and like the uncrustables too, but I can't bring myself to buy them. ( come on how lazy are you that you can't make a sandwich) so I got from pampered chef a sandwich press thing that you can make them. I usually make them and take along. Yes I could just say eat the crusts but I kind of enjoy making my own round ones.

Here is what the Carnation Cafe's PBJ looks like. I was surprised that my kid ordered it, I think he just wanted the marshmellows! I think it was around $5-6!

I agree with those that say bring your own. Why pay $6.00 for a pb&j that you're not sure he'll like when you can make one for like $0.37 and bring it into the park.

I would just make my own and bring them in the park. You could even find a mickey mouse cookie cutter and make it cute yourself for way cheaper. I use the plastic lock n lock containers for sandwiches so they don't get squished.

That would make his day!! Thanks for the tip.

Now I only have to find one in less than a week. Any ideas on where to get one? :confused3

Thanks for posting the pic. I can see that it is white bread, so I'm going to bring everything and just make our own.

It's really not a big deal and that way I can relax knowing he will eat it for sure.

At least he's not into his "only green stuff" diet.

Hmmm, maybe this trip would be a good time to try to get your kiddo "off" the PB&J diet by saying Mickey doesn't have PB&J and they need to order something else. It's worth a shot.....

If it works, then after a meal or 2 of chcken nuggests or mac & cheese you could visit carnation cafe and get that cute palette PB&J meal as a surprise treat!

I've been there... Let them know that PB&J (the food of the day)won't be an option. Review the menus you have pre-selected that will be aggreeable with the other family members with the child and let them help make the final choice. You can always have a PB&J in the backpack and pull it out if they choose not to order off the menu.

I envy you your PB&J issues.

We are on the other end of the spectrum. I have to call ahead to avoid it, wipe tables and chairs down whenever my daughter sits, avoid all dessert products, etc....

Since the PB&J in the parks is the smuckers variety (and I would bet that that includes the palette thing), and since they have unsavory ingredients in that, we bring our own. Go to Vons, get their O brand organic peanut butter and jam, and their O bread, and it's much much better for DS and everyone around than dealing with the Uncrustable Hades that happens (they have corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup, and turn DS into an unmanageable dragon...we've seen it happen with other kids, too, though their parents aren't yet aware of what seems to be causing it). Discovered the Uncrustables label at DCA one day...sure did make all of those hellish zoo trips make more sense...the zoo has been so much nicer since we dropped the Uncrustables "treat". And so has Disney. :)

Ohh... and the 99 cent store has the plastic sandwich containers with Cars and Princesses on them! I think I am going to have to pick some up now. They also have matching water bottles and snack containers. I'll be picking up my tom-boy DD the Cars!!

We always take in our own PB&Js. I pre-make a large amount of sandwiches and cut into halves - even the big kids ate them for a quick snack. The PB&Js plus some snack mix (pretzels, cheez its, etc.) and fruit from the hotel breakfast saved us from many hunger meltdowns! It was pure heaven to not have to wait in line to feed a hungry kiddo. Plus, I have to say, the kids meals at DLR are sorely lacking. My kids were much happier with the homemade than the kids meals. My DDs won't eat the Uncrustables or the DLR MacnCheese, so not alot of options left.
