Well I was trying to be on the ball with the dining reservations and booked a meal at Be our guest, or so I thought.

I entered my card details but I must not have confirmed it properly because it isn't there now and I didn't make a note of a reservation number.

So needless to say when I have tried to get a reservation now there isn't anything for the whole time we are there. I'm totally gutted at being so stupid as this was the only reservation I really wanted to make :(

Does any-one know what is the best idea to getting a cancellation.

Go to the restaurants forum, go into the sub forum for Reservations and find the month that you are traveling in. People post a heads up when they tend to cancel and BoG does come up from time to time.

Best advice though is to just keep checking yourself as regularly as you can.

So sorry you didn't get it. I hope you manage to snag one before you go. :wizard:

How sure are you that you actually completed the process of booking the ADR? If you did complete it, you will have had an email confirmation which has your reservation number on it. It is worth checking for this because a lot of people have reported ADRs and FP+ reservations magically disappearing from their My Disney Experience account. It could be that you have your ADR but it is in the land of the missing on MDE.

did you not make a note of the reservation number, or was that reservation number never issued by the website ?

that's a huge difference.

If your reservation has gone through and you just didn't make a note of the ressie number, that reservation might be active, even if it's lost in the system.
This means that you'd be charged a no show fee if you don't show up. ($10pp)

If you didn't complete the reservation and never got to the confirmation number screen, then it's fine.

I was going to ask/suggest the same- I hope it turns up for you.

Thanks for the suggestion. Have just searched my emails and nothing so is probably my own stupid fault :(
I think I will contact them to double check though as that really would be the icing on the cake if I got charged for not turning up.

Do they release all available tables at 180 days out or do they keep some behind?

That's a shame!

My Cape May ADR doesn't show on MDE but I did get a confirmation number and email. You could always call and see if it's "lost" but without a number, it could be tricky.

It sucks this has happened to you, I was gutted when I thought my ADR hadn't gone through!

Keep trying. I got a BoG ressie at 10 weeks out just by checking every day, twice a day!

I can see this being the sole purpose in my life for the next few months lol. I've already checked 3 times tonight. Well you never know :rotfl:

The exact same thing happened to me. They said they have had a few of these lately, so beware.

This has got me a bit worried. I've never made reservations using MDE before, so I don't know what to expect when I come to do them next week. I've already put in the card details on MDE, will this make it easier? I won't need to put them in again to confirm the booking or anything, will I?

No they take your money real fast when necessary!!!!!

Nope, if your card is saved to your profile, you don't need to re-enter it when making dining reservations.

Aside from the extremely popular reservations, it's not necessary to feel pressured and rushed to be there exactly as the booking window opens. The credit card hold and no-show penalty definitely seems to have opened up more availability in general. I just changed a reservation for Crystal Palace in July a week ago and had a choice of suitable times. I was expecting to have to forfeit it or take a less convenient time, but there were no issues at all.

Work in order of priority and don't let it get you too worked up.

Don't worry - it will be fine, it is really easy. :)

The card number stays, all I had to fill in each time was my contact number. Make a note of each reservation number, just in case it does not show in MDE. I took a screen grab on my iPhone of each reservation after the problem I had with one disappearing.

I think this is they key thing. Make sure you make a note of the reservation number. I will definitely be doing this (and might even pinch the screen grab idea too :( ) with any future reservations I make.

As noted above, keep trying and a slot may come up. Another option would be to make a Fastpass+ reservation for lunch - not quite the same as dinner, but you would at least get top experience the restaurant. Not quite sure if you can book a BoG lunch FP at 30 or 60 days out - hopefully someone else could confirm - but I do know that this would be in addition to the 3 FP+ selections per day you can make.

Keep trying - the credit card no-show system *works*, this means that people constantly go back and cancel their reservations when in the past they might just leave it to keep their options open.

180 days out, everyone books like crazy because they don't want to risk missing out - but the closer it gets to departure date, people firm up their plans more and cancellations happen more frequently. Even if you are unsuccessful right up till departure, keep checking even after you've arrived - don't give up hope, fingers crossed you will get it.

Thanks for the suggestions. Been trying every day but no luck yet. Still a few months to go though.

I think I will try the fast pass lunch suggestion and keep trying for the Dinner cancelations, at least that way if I do hit lucky I can just cancel the fastpass lunch.

Lets hope I have more luck with the fast pass :rotfl:
