We asked every Castmember we interacted with on our Land/Sea trip in October, "What was the stupidest question youve ever been asked". We had some great answers!
The best one (and I actually saw the shirt and bought it this trip) "What time is the 3 o'clock parade"
"Does this bus go to Disneyland"? (In orlando when they were asked)
One I heard personally on the bus to CBR, Guest-"Does this bus stop at every stop at the resort"? CM- "Yes maam it does", G-"Does it stop at Barbados", CM- (very calmly) "Is that a stop at CBR Maam"? G-"Yes", CM- "Then yes maam it does".

What are some that you as Guest or as Castmembers have heard?

I've honestly never heard anyone ask a stupid question...but I pay little attention to other people's questions to staff. I don't even think your examples are all that stupid. I do think the CM could have been a lot less rude, though.

I once had a performance review that stated, "(she) is asked numerous stupid questions and always responds in a pleasant manner." I never saw any reason not to do so. It was my job to help those people.

The point of being rude or smarty-pantsy to confused people who you are paid to help - I just don't see it.

Maybe that CM feels better about themselves or something by being a smarty-pants, but I am less than impressed.

WOW! Perhaps re-read the title. SILLIEST/ stupidest question. Not saying they are all STUPID, some are SILLY.
There are some pretty SILLY questions out there. You honestly dont think "What time is the 3oclock Parade" isnt a silly/stupid question? :confused3

This one is not made up. DW and I were in line for Splash Mountain. As we got close to boarding the ride we heard someone ask "Is this a water ride? Are we going to get wet? How wet are we going to get?" DW and I both turned to each other and said "Hello. McFly." and busted out laughing.

Thats what Im talking about!! Perfect example. Thank you Thumper!

A CM and I were joking around in Frontierland two weeks ago and I asked him where the Harry Potter land was. All of a sudden, he stopped laughing, got a very serious look and said "You have no idea how many times I've been asked that.":sad2:

I think sometimes questions like when is the 3:00 parade are missing some key words like when is the parade in Fronterland or on Main St. Just like with any question sometimes you have to read between the lines. I know a lot of people that have part of the conversation in there head and don't realize the other person doesn't understand exactly what they are trying to ask.

Not necessarily. Some times the brain just has a hiccup. I went to the 25th anniversary celebration at the Cineramadome. I'd never been there before, and was quite impressed. I very seriously asked folks, as we were leaving "What a great old theater! I wonder how old it is?" 'A' just did not connect to 'B'!

Sayhello

I think it is 25 years old.

last year when i was on the keys to the kingdom tour, a lady walked up to our tour guide, (the tour guide was dressed in a plad skirt, a blue riding hat and carring a riding crop with a big silver D pin on her chest)and asked if she works here. :lmao: she said, without laughing, yes i do, how can i help you.

Not so much silly...

We had our fast passes for Expedition Everest for around 4:10. We were waiting over to the side waiting for our time to go in. It was about 4:00. In those 10 min the cm must've turned 30 people away repeatedly because ...well it was almost their time to go in ..and what's a few minutes. One "gentleman" must've tried about 10 times in those 10 min. I felt so bad for the cm ...he was trying to be polite..but c'mon. When it was our time to go in, as I walked by I told him... you have the patience of a saint. He chuckled and said Thanks. I hope I at least made him feel that others saw the the hard work he does and what he has to deal with.

This is hilarious, Barry! Totally doing this...

The funniest thing I ever heard, a woman coming out of Animal Kingdom whining, "where were all the rides?" :lmao:

A. Did she look at a map...???

B. If that's all she was there for she was in the WRONG park! oy!

"Oh, is The Dolphin a nearby hotel ? "

From a CM ringing up my sweatshirt purchase in the lobby of The Poly...

:tilt:

Now I'm wondering what context you were discussing the Dolphin resort at the Polynesian. ;) And this wasn't a CP cast member? Not "Earning My Ears"? Either the cast member hasn't explored Walt Disney World much, or the cast member is brilliantly feigning ignorance of the existence of a Starwood owned hotel. Hmm. :rolleyes1
