Silk flower questions (it's budget, I promise!)

Hi all, I am hoping to get some opinions on what to do with these flowers that I have ordered. I am making 50 centerpieces for an event a few weeks from now, and found a wonderful place online to purchase silk flowers and decorations MUCH cheaper than I could have bought them here. They have arrived and look even better than they did in the photographs. In addition, I also bought decorative silk petals in the colors of the event to scatter on the tables, and the packaging and shipping have left many of them crumpled and folded. These are in the shapes of butterflies, hearts, and traditional rose petals.

I was thinking of spreading out several towels and placing the worst ones out on them and misting them lightly with water to try to get them to unfold, but I don't want to do anything that would damage them at all. The butterflies seem to be made from a simple off-white thin cotton, the hearts are silver lame, and the rose petals are royal blue...polyester? rayon? I don't know.

Does anyone have any other ideas? I can't afford to ruin all of these and buy new ones. I would appreciate any tips you can offer.

Check with the place you purchased them, I'm sure they will know. I'm afraid water could hurt them.

Hi, just wondering where you bought them, maybe you can steam them a little...good luck.

Thanks for the replies -- not sure if I'm allowed to say the website here. I'd be happy to share in a PM.

I have over 3000 individual petal-like things here, so I was trying for as little labor as possible while still keeping them pretty. Maybe I'll just spread them out and put some heavy books on them...but I'd have to do about 250 a day! What was I thinking?!

I would either lay them out and put books on them, or lay them out and put a thin towel over them and steam them with your iron.
