This is my first time posting on this board and I will be cruising on the Magic in May. My question is, when I sign up my kids for the Oceaneer's Club, do they have to be with me or can I go alone to sign them up and bring them back later to play? I want to sign them up embarkation afternoon, but I don't want to drag them away from the pool if I don't have to.

Thanks - I can't believe all the information I have found on this site.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe you can just go and fill out the required paperwork without the kids, but then when you go to drop them off, you will have to take the time to have their wristbands made and put on them. Then again, they may give you the wristbands when you turn in the paperwork.

I double checked with my DH, who did the sign-up of our kids on the January cruise. He is sure that the kids don't need to be there for registration - but you do have to stop briefly for their bracelets when you drop them off there for the first time.

I think they have to be with you so they can get their wristbands/badges. Don't worry about it though and do it later in the night. We checked out the clubs after the drill and they sucked down their dinners and wanted to go right away! But then again, I was seasick and don't remember a whole lot about that night.

Just ask the counsleor to make your childs nametag and wristband for you and that you will attach it to them. TO have them printed during checkin for the welcome aboard party will be a hastle for you and them... becasue the line tends to grow becasue of waiting to have wristbands and nametags made.

It's best to bring them if you want them placed in a higher age category. My DD was nine the first time we cruised & we wanted her to be placed with the 10 to 12 yr. olds, as she wanted to be with a girl she met in the terminal while on line to board. They were able to see how mature she was and had no problems letting her go up. Thank goodness that happened, or she would have been bored to tears with the 7 to 9 group!
