I've never been to any of the signature restaurants, but DH and I would like to treat our group to one of the resort signature restaurants on our next trip. I know the menus are very limited and there is generally one vegetarian entree at each restaurant. I'm a vegetarian and since we're paying for the meal, I want to pick a place that has a good vegetarian entree for myself.

So I'm basically just asking for any reviews from other vegetarians out there on vegetarian entrees at the signature restaurants. Pictures are always welcome too. Thanks in advance for the help! :)

Hi!

Can't offer specifics on menu items OR photos, but I can say that all menus are posted on this site - click Dining at the top - and that Disney will provide you with a tasty vegetarian meal. I was at Ohana last week and had a delish vegetable and rice dish. Just ask and you will receive!

It may be too extravagant, but I understand V&A does a wonderful vegetarian meal. When we were there last and chatting with the maitre d', he mentioned that a vegetarian couple had recently dined there and loved it so much they returned for the next two nights of their GF stay.

I'm also a vegetarian (vegan) and have been reading through tons of signature restaurant reviews (we can only afford 1) and will share with you what I have HEARD:

Citricos always has a tofu dish and with the season, the accompaniment changes. It is very flavorful.

Jikos has a great selection. It offers a separate menu for vegetarians and also for vegans. The flavors of Africa pita and hummus dish off of the vegan menu is supposed to be very fresh and tasty. Also, at one time a dish called the Chakalaka was on the menu and was DELICIOUS.

Brown Derby has a coconut curries tofu dish. Very small portion, but flavorful.

California Grill has a vegetarian plate which is 4 mini dishes which are created by the chef that day.

The Wave-not a signature-but I have heard it is really GREAT! The menu changes with the season, but you may be able to request these course dishes which I have heard rave reviews: avocado and citrus salad (fellow Diser said best salad), vegetable stew (said it was very tasty, fresh and comforting) and fruit sorbet.

Hope I helped and enjoy!!:)

I'd go for Jiko. I'm not a vegetarian, although I sometimes order the vegetarian option, and Jiko's usually is great. Currently they are offering Aleecha Shimbra Asa, Inguday Tibs - With goat cheese cream, Ethiopian Vegetable stack, chickpea cake and spiced mushroom spinach roll. I had that the last time we were there and it was excellent.

Thank you for all of your suggestions!

It sounds like Jiko is a big hit, but I would be afraid of the food being a little too exotic. DH and I went to Sanaa on our last trip and the food was a little weird to us. But it sounds like I definitely have a few good choices. :)

I didn't like Sanaa (not because it was too exotic, just didn't think the food was very good), but Jiko was fantastic - I definitely agree with everyone above who suggested it.
