sitting here at the bwv enjoying my pizza slice after paying almost $200 for a signature dinner at Tiffins ( part of the food & wine fest). Such
A disapppintment! Maybe it was the shortage of help ( or food) after the hurricane ( in which case, they should have cancelled the dinner)- but I left hungry and thirsty! One of our "wines" was a 3 oz. beer pour! This was the Most disappointing dinner I have been to. Interested to know what others experiences are at the signature dinners?

What were you served?
We did the first culinary event at the Festival Center and we we received a bagel, yes a bagel for $15.
Wednesday we did the Spice Road event and that was so great, cannot wait to do it next year.

Started a thread on tiffins in June of how tiny the portions are. Food was great but food was very small. Only time in my life I ate at one restaurant and went straight to another one.

I've done the Med. one at Spice Road Tables twice and the Moroccan one once and both were great. I'm doing the Med one again this year and the tequila lunch. All of those are in the parks and not signature dinners. Did the blurb mention it was a wine meal? It may be that the chef felt beer went better with what ever he was serving?

I almost cancelled our reservation at Tiffins during our last trip and all I can say is that I was so incredibly and pleasantly surprised. When we were there, the service was top notch and the food was excellent. I'm sorry your visit was not as good. There are so many options for restaurants that it's easy to never go back to one you don't like, but I'm hopeful that if you go again, it'll be as good as our last visit. The food we had was on par with California Grill - hard to believe, I know, but that was our experience.

It's three days later, and I'm still unhappy....

A couple notes - I've been doing several signature dinners at Epcot F & W fest every year for at least the last 14 years -and while they are not as good as they once were - I still considered them fun and worth the money (at least I DID).

We had 5 courses - all tiny (The salad consisted of 4 bites). I'm pretty sure the soup was straight off the menu. There was no reception. We had 3 (3-oz.) wine pours, the afore mentioned 3-oz.beer ( which they sell for $9 for a 16-oz pour), and a 1 oz. limoncello. To be fair, the courses were tasty, and pretty to look at.

This was not a lunch. This was a $200 per person signature dining event.

Maybe the food is a good value if you are on the dining plan- but at $200 per person, plus park admission - it just wasn't.

I am happy to know that the Spice road events are worth doing! I have done the Italian and french lunches, and enjoyed both of them. I may just start booking only the more reasonably priced lunches, as I won't expect so much.

Honestly, I'm just grousing because I am so disappointed. I hate feeling like I have to lower my expectaions - so maybe it's just time to find an alternative. Thanks for listening.

So sorry your experience didn't pan out the way you wanted. My family loves Tiffins, but the portions are definitely smaller. For the future, if you aren't looking for the full meal, Nomad Lounge is a great place to relax and get appetizers and small samples from the larger Tiffins menu, and they are really tasty.

The OP paid for a special dining experience for Food and Wine. This sounds like the "let's provide as little as possible" version.

I'd be upset too.

I am doing a lot fewer special events. I'm over "pay more, receive less".
