I know that the other resorts have their signature drinks, such as the Stormalong at the Beach Club. Does anyone know what it is at the Fort?

I am really getting excited!!!!:cool1: Gotta picture myself at the pool and I don't know what I'm drinking!!!!:rotfl2:

I'll try to let you down gently here.

We don't have a bar bar at the pool at Fort Wilderness.

We have a snack bar.

And it closes at 5 pm.

And the signature drinks are either:

A. Jose' Cuervo Margarita

or

B. Kahlua Mud Slide

I say that with authority.

Because those are the only alcoholic drinks (other than beer or wine) served at the snack bar.

And, there is no bartender.

They are the kind that come in the individual bottles.

It sucks to be us.

BYOB?

Crocket's is the bar, but no signature drink. Now......... Come to any of our gatherings where the blender will be going, that's your signature drink!!!!

The Fort Fiends have a signature drink!! Kungaloosh!!!!

If you search the forum, you'll find the recipe for Kungaloosh. Some say it's mighty fine.....but for me, it's dependent on how I feel before each trip. Since we're at the best "home away from home" locale at WDW, we can bring our own concoctions and work on the blending during our trip. I prefer a very cold chardonnay with an oaky/buttery finish and DH prefers Crown with various mixers. In year's past, we've always traveled with a blender.

I do enjoy a martini from time to time, but the darn drink doesn't stay put in a martini glass whilst looping.

Now, don't take this the wrong way. I LOVE me some kungaloosh. But, if Rick is tending bar, I might be swayed to indulge in a toasted almond or two.

I don't think the blender will fit in my carryon! We are renting a golf cart from Kenny, so we may be visiting some of you while looping!

We don't own a camper...We own a Ranger Tug and do our "camping" on the water! But only in NJ, at the moment.

Looking forward to getting to know the Fort!!!

For setting up the camper - Beer, cold beer, Ice cold beer. After 20+ hours and 1100 miles with the great DW and DKs, let's just say beer. It also appears from carefully observations of the transient campers setting up around me in the past, beer is the primary first choice.

Ah, now to the finer tastes of life. Single Malt and Cabernet, not together, are always nice. Later at night maybe with Chip and Dale and with dinner and a cigar. Vodka and cranberry is a good choice as well.

But I digress, as a worldly traveler (AKA epcot) I find it very important one must not discriminate against any culture thus why I try to sample at each country.

I know maybe disney should open a craft brewery at FW. It seems to fit the wild western culture we have all come to love. Thoughts?

You will absolutely LOVE it! You should find lots of exciting sights and sites for looping and the trading post has some mighty fine spirits as well! My husband ran out of whiskey last weekend and was able to find more a short golf cart ride away! Are you in a cabin?

I wouldn't travel the world any other way. It's the best way to get from jolly old England to viva la Mexico pushing a screamer in a stroller!

Amen to that Brother Dave !

Let us all praise Rick and his toasted almond ,,
Mmmmmm, Mmmmm, gooood.

This is my kinda post!!! :) Kungaloosh alll the way baby!!!

I can put in a plug for the margarita's at Crockett's - tasty but pricey. After dropping almost $20 on 2 (incl TiW discount) we opted to head back to the RV to make a pitcher. ;)

No wonder the folks on the other boards think we are a bunch of alcoholic rednecks...

Because we are!!! :rotfl:

(Nah!!! We just know how to have a good time!!! :thumbsup2)

...sitting out on the porch at Crocketts Tavern with my brother enjoying a "Gullywumper". This was about 5 years ago. Do they still make that drink?

No idea, but if it's on the menu in a couple of weeks I must try anything called a Gullywumper!! ;)

We're gonna stop at a grocery store on our way from the airport for some good stuff to barbeque! We really want to take in the atmosphere of the Fort! So I'm thinking, since we are usually winos, we should stop and get a couple of bottles.

But I'd still like to taste a "Crockett's Special" drink or two!!

I don't remember any special FW drink at Crockett's and we usually are there about every other night when we stay.

However; my DW & I love their nachos. It is a big pile with lots of cheese, meat, tomatoes, jalapenos (on the side for us), and sour cream on the side. Almost a complete meal for two. We usually wash it down with one of those specialty drinks that is like a frozen pina coloda with a rasberry swirl through it. I don't know what it is called, but my wife has me hooked on them.
