*sigh* WL, woods view, FL res rate=$195 a night...is this the best I can do?

I am a little bummed. I have stayed at the WL many times in January (ok, maybe just 3 or 4 times, and maybe sometimes in early December) and I usually pay a FL res rate of around $140. Now it is $195 (including taxes!)

I FINALLY coaxed my DH into agreeing to a late January weekend getaway, but when I called to make my ressie, I was dismayed at the price. I guess it is true, the past few years of good savings had us spoiled, and it is all uphill from here. I am a little sad.

Any suggestions? Can I get a good rate an the Swalphin? Is it cheaper at AKL?

BRP rate standard view Jan 21-28 for me is $162 a night a WL.

Hmmmm...I have never even looked into BRP...not even sure what it is! Guess I may have to now!

Anyway, DH and I put a cap of $150 on our room rates at WDW. We've always been able to follow that rule of thumb...but maybe we will have to rethink that!

Yes, quite surprising for January?? We had a woodsview this past August (late month) for that $140ish rate. Maybe something's up during that time??

Yes...very odd for a January! Also, we got a bit spoiled renting points at BWV and staying in a studio for $110 a night. BUT...that deal is only on weekdays, and unfortunately there is school and DH's work to consider!

BTW...$195 is with tax and everything...so now that I rethink it, I believe BRP rate for a standard is about the same as FL res rate standard. Does your $162 include tax?

BRP (annual pass rates) HAVE been running at the same rate as Fl resident rates as far as I know.

First of all....did you mean to say "Oh Really?"

Second...I did not need to see your itinerary, but I am happy for you that you are so proud of it! I asked if the BRP rate is the same as FL res rate...I believe the answer is "yes." I wouldn't pay $160 for a standard view at WL, either!
