Sigh. I think I was the target of an intended scam. . .

Never happened before, so it was interesting to watch.

I've had plenty of people completely ignore my sig that says: "No trading, please don't ask" but I hit ignore and go on my way and they don't bother me again.

Today, I show up in fireworks and within 2 seconds I get someone asking
"DisneyLlama"

"DisneyLlama"

Me: "Yes?"

Him: "Are you playing?"

Me: "Yes"

Him: "Thank you"

Ok, that was odd. . .

Get into the game and he is keeping up pretty well and ends up with just over 240,000 while I'm in the high 250,000s, so I guess that perhaps he'd seen previous scores and wanted to try to either get magic or credits with someone who didn't stop at 240,000


But no.

Him: "DisneyLlama, good game!"

Me: "Thanks"

Then the trade box pops up.

I hit ignore

Him: "It's not about inferno. Please, I want to ask you something"

Me: "What?"

Him: "Are you playing again?"

Me: "In a little bit, have to go do something"

Him: "Wait"

Me: I make my call and watch him keep talking to me on the screen

Him: "Don't leave"
"Remember, South South West Fireworks"
"Please accept trade. I need to tell you something" blah blah blah

I finish my call and jump back in with
"What?"

He keeps insisting he has to tell me something

So I go into the trade box thinking he can't be this stupid.

Him: "Will you be friends?"

Me: "Um, ok, this is what you wanted to ask me?"

Him: "Thanks"

Me: "We done here?"

Him: "Wait"

Him: "I know you are going to say no, but I can borrow your inferno?"

Me: "LOL, you are right, that's exactly what I'm going to say"

Him: "Lol"

Him: "But I won't run off with it. I just want to see what it looks like. Please"

this goes on for several more lines until I close the trade box.

eesh. The game started, I get through it and get out with my credits.

Geez, what a pain. He must have been clicking on people the minute they appeared in the fireworks game to bug them.

I wonder if he has any success with this?

I have had people do stuff like that to me, and I close the trade window and say to the whole room........ so and so wants to borrow my whatever, I have never met them, should I let them borrow it? And everyone laughs.

Did you report this annoying bit o' pondscum to VMK? Because if won't
stop at you, he might actually get away with scamming some kid who
doesn't know better.

He was using the oldest trick in the book. They don't call it a "con" for
nothing, when "con" is short for "confidence". Con artists rely on their
victims being trusting and confident in them.
