Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Sierra Suites in Lake Buena Vista? They have a low rate of $79/nt in late April/early May when we will be going. Just wondering about how large the rooms are, cleanliness, pool, etc. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!:D

Hi...very nice clean hotel in a great location in LBV....east entrance to Disney is just a couple of blocks away. Now, this is not a "suite" with a separate bedroom and TV..It is a large room with beds and a couch and a small kitchen....somehow the word suite has been expanded to mean a large room with couch and chairs rather than two separate rooms. It is nice for 79 dollars and the location is great. There is plenty of room, nice pool, but only one room....enjoy...Ted

Ted- Thanks for the info! Sounds like a good value for us and a great location too. Happy Holidays! :p

I posted this earlier this year.

Time to give back a bit to these boards. My mother and I stayed at Sierra Suites 9/11/02 through 9/21/02 (10 nights). Loved it and will go back next time. It’s located on Palm Parkway just a hop and skip from The Crossroad. We timed the commute to the parks and it ran 10 to 15 minutes. It’s more of a convention hotel. (had a pilots convention going on when we checked in) But this place was perfect for us. They have light housekeeping. We are not messy travelers and prefer not to have the sheet changed every day. The place was very clean even with the light housekeeping concept. A full cleaning was done every fourth day. The room was large with a king and a pull out queen. Kitchenette had: coffee maker with tea, coffee, sugar and creamer, toaster, micro, full sized fridge with ice maker, stove top, dish washer, garbage disposal and all the dishes, glasses, mugs silverware, pots and pans that you would need. Oh salt and pepper was also provided. It was the last hotel in this particular hotel strip, so the traffic going by the hotel was a bit less. But you have to watch out for fast moving locals' traffic along Palm Parkway when you pull out of the parking lot. That was the only negative that we could find. We had a room on the second floor facing the pool and never heard any noise from the pool. The breakfast was apples, some times bananas, muffins, some times other pastries, bagels and cream cheese, three to four cereals, two kinds of milk, three types of juice, coffee (regular and decaf) and tea. There was a WinDixe and an ABC just down the street. Better prices than at The Crossroads! Last but not least was the staff. They were pleasent, friendly and helpful with any questions and we actually had a good time talking with them. Any other questions please let me know. Oh I paid $65.95 a night.

Thank you so much for your detailed information on Sierra Suites LBV. That was really helpful!
Happy Holidays!

My DH, DS, and I just returned from 3 nights at Sierra Suites LBV (12/11/02-12/13/02). I just wanted to say "ditto" to everything AJA55 said about this hotel (clean, great location, etc.).

A couple of other things we liked:

- The hotel also has a laundry. It is located right off the lobby, across from the front desk, and requires a cardkey to get in. I felt totally safe using it, even by myself at night.

- There is a desk in the lobby where you can buy parkhopper passes.

A couple negatives:

- We thought the coffee offerred at the continental breakfast was very weak so, if you like strong coffee, you may want to bring your own and use the coffeemaker in the room.

- We booked a "buy 2 nights, get 3rd night free" rate on their website and our confirmation showed a charge for all 3 nights. The manager returned our call the next day and straightened this out. If you book via their website, be sure to check your total!

Overall, we thought this hotel was a great deal and would certainly stay here again.

cofey,

Was the 3rd night free a limited promotion? I could not find it on the website.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike J,

I am not sure what the terms of the stay 2/get 1 free promotion are. When we booked, this promotion was available via the hotel's website as well as via hotelkingdom.com.

I recently checked to see if this same rate was available in March 2003 and here is what I found:
- No mention of this promotion on hotel's website
- Hotelkingdom shows this promo as sold out for dates I checked (1st wknd in March).

So... I'm not sure whether it's not being offered or is offered, but sold out.

Maybe you could try checking other dates/hotel sites to see if this promo rate comes up?

Sorry I'm not more help. :(

We looked at this hotel too for our jan. stay and the hotels website said its only good till end of jan.
We couldn't decide on going early jan. or early feb. but that helped us decide!

Is this the hotel at 8750 Universal Blvd.? We are thinking of staying there in January. Hotel Kingdom has a family suite for $189 for 4 nights as one night is free. Please let me know. Also, is this by Sea World? Could someone give me some landmarks that it is by. Is it in Orlando or Kissimee?

Anyone book through Hotel Kingdom.com, any comments will be helpful. We are going back and forth between Sierra suites or Summerfield suites on International Drive.

Thanks for any info
Joanna

i believe there are 2 one near universal and one in lake buena vista just down from downtown disney. I have heard good things about hotelkingdom but if you go to the hotels website sierrasuites.com they are offering the special on there site and you can just book right through them. they are having the buy 2 get 3rd nite free till the end of jan. i think.

also there is probably a map of where the hotel is on there website.

There are two. The one on Universal is close to the Orlando Convention Center but be aware, there is road construction happening in that area and it is very messy driving.

The one in LBV is on Palm Parkway and very convenient to Disney, Sea World and Universal. To go to Disney take Palm Parkway down to the crossroads. To go to Universal and Sea World, go thte opposite way...Palm Parkway becomes Turkey Lake. If you turn right at the first light, you head towards Sea World, keep going straight and you can follow it all the way up to Universal...going in the back way.
