I found a review on Military Disney Tips and wonder if anyone has tried this? I don't remember seeing it referenced on DISBoards. I have military ID but my husband (the retiree) won't be with us, has anyone tried accessing the lounge without their sponsor?

From what I understand you have to go over to SOG to get a special card to have access to that lounge.

Doable :) We stayed at SOG last time, so I know where the ticket counter is and am familiar with walking over from the Polynesian. It seems worth investigating at least, it would be cool to try the "secret entrance" to Spaceship Earth.

I read the same review... First I ever heard of it. Any chance you're gonna try it before the end of January? We're not staying at Shades this trip, but could swing by there if it was worth it. Would love to hear a recent experience!

We'll be there January 23-31. Maybe we'll see you there. I think I will try it out.

Let us know how it works. We were just there and didn't find out about it until our last day and we weren't going to EPCOT on that day! We were even staying at SoG!!! Sigh.

The article was not clear...if anyone tries this it'd be great to hear more about how it works! Do you have to be staying at SOG to get the pass; if not, can a dependent pick up the pass? How long is the pass valid for? Can non-military guests accompany the guest with a military ID? It would be really neat to see the lounge! We checked out the one at the America pavilion during the F&W festival recently.

Ask for the access code also. Typically you enter the access code at the entry door and then show your card after you arrive on the 2nd floor at reception. Enjoy the best bathrooms at Epcot!

this is a great fun break. stayed at SOG they gave me (military spouse) card to get in. you get one entry per trip. had non-military guests with us, also staying at SOG. were told they could come with me since we sponsored them at SOG. no problem getting in. great break time while at that park. also provided us with beverage break too. don't be afraid of it.

I worked for AT&T when they were the title sponsors and we had access.

You enter via a door on the side to s small greeting room / office. When the attendant verifies you, they let you into a big hospitality room with coaches, fridges and soft drink machines. This room has a grand window that looks out over the fountain area facing the world showcase.

There are conf rooms off the back.

2004 was the last time I had access to this room. I am sure it has changed since. But that gives you an idea. It was truly not that big a deal.
