We leave tomorrow (yeah!!!!!) but my daughter and I are both sick with sinus stuff. If we have to, are there any pharmacies that will deliver to Pop Century?

If I would need to, where is the best place to take a 1 year old to the doctor without a car?

Thanks!

Pick up some all natural Sinupret For Kids Syrup at your Walmart...it works great and you can both take it. Plus it has no side affects. It's about $14 a bottle.

Hi there! So sorry to hear you are sick:sick: . First, I agree with the other poster - try to get to the Dr. today to get some antibiotics...you'll both be better in no time. Also, my DS get sinus infections a lot and he does sinus rinses with a netti pot (fill with water and the water does in one nostril and all the yucky stuff comes out - I know probably TMI:eek: , but wanted to let you know!). Also, we run the shower with the door shut for 10 min., then stick him in there for a good steam to open things up. If you are flying, make sure to have Earplanes earplugs for you guys and I would give your DD some tylenol as the air pressure may get uncomfortable with sinus stuff going on. Just keep blowing your noses to get that stuff out and try to go to the Dr. Good luck and I will be thinking of you both and hoping you get pixie dust sprinkled on you to feel better for your trip!!:tinker:

Do you think it's a cold, or sinus infection? Antibiotics will do nothing for a cold, and most 1 year olds don't get sinus infections.

I was at the doctor on Tuesday. I am on my third round of antibiotics for sinus infections and so far still not better. The doctor said to try this antibiotic until Sunday or Monday and then if no improvement call him and he would call in another one to try. We won't have a car, so this will only work if a pharmacy will deliver to onsite hotels.

I had my daughter at the doctor yesterday. He also gave her an antibiotic. She is 22 months, so an old one year old. He thinks she has a sinus infection. He did say it is possible it could be viral (like a cold) but she has been stuffy for 3 weeks and had a fever of 102.5, so he thought a sinus infection was most likely. He said if she isn't fully feeling better by Sunday or Monday to have her looked at again. I was hoping to head down there with a good place to take her just in case I have to.

Hopefully we both feel better very quickly and don't need either of these things!

Yup, my Dr. just told us last week that children under 2 don't get sinus infections as their sinuses are not developed yet!

From allears:

There are no pharmacies located on Walt Disney World property. Most hotel gift shops have a small selection of over the counter items like cough syrup and pain relievers.

Turner Drugs (turnerdrug.com) will deliver to Walt Disney World resorts. They can be reached at 407-828-8125. Check the website for delivery hours and information.

-------------------------
We used them last time we were in the world. They were VERY fast on the delivery!! And the prices were reasonable. Your hotel will pay for it and then the hotel will charge to your room acct.

We just got a over the counter cough medicine. I think I remember reading somewhere on the dis boards that if it is a prescription from a dr that Turners WILL NOT accept insurance policies. You would have to pay the entire cost and then file with your insurance when you got home.

Hope that helps!

HAVE A FABULOUS TRIP!!

Just wanted to say that this is absolutely not true. It may be rare for young children to get sinus infections but it does happen. The sickest my three year old has ever been was when she was 14 months old and had a horrible sinus infection. We have pictures from that time...her sinuses were so swollen that she looked like she had been in a boxing match...black swollen circles under both her eyes. Our pediatrician thought it was just a cold the first time we had taken her in and then when we brought her back in two days later she was shocked at how swollen and puffy her face had gotten. She started on anti-biotics and improved almost immediately.

Hugs to OP we are also leaving tomorrow and two of my three kids have slightly runny noses and mild coughs...as do my husband and I!!

My husband is a pharmacist and would be more than glad to give you Over the Counter Med recommendations if you need it while you're there. We are staying off disney property but if you are interested PM me and I will give you some contact info!

I hope you and your little one feel better soon!

I guess i should edit it to say she told us they usually don't get them as their sinuses usually aren't fully developed, all kids do develop at different rates.

If you require medical attention while you are down there, there is a walk in clinic close to down town disney. I can't remember the name. We called the Pop front desk and they reccommended it. The clinic will send a free shuttle and then bring you back to Pop. There is a pharmacy attached to the clinic.

We used this on our last trip, both boys developed ear infections. Ds6 caught a cold 2 days before we left. I should have taken him to the dr then but didn't. We tried to treat it ourselves. The flight caused his ears to close. Neither of the boys had ever had ear infections before. So, it caught us by suprise. (Not to mention that everyone in the family caught the cold.)

Everything at the clinic went as smooth as could be expected and all the staff were very nice. (and our insurance covered it!!) The whole process did take around 3 hours though. So, if you (knock on wood) get worse while you are at WDW, it is a fairly easy to get to a clinic.

I would reccommend trying to see the Dr. before you leave though. Here's some:wizard: so you don't get sick! Oh and you might want to get some musinex for yourself. It loosens head congestion as well as chest congestion.

I am PMing you back Erin, but I just have to post five more times before I can! ( I need ten posts). ...so here's one down! lol!
