Folks,

Saw this on the MousePlanet update for 4/21. I guess imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. I note that it says "....Grand Floridian guests...."

Whaddya think? Can somebody keep an eye on this and maybe try to catch it one night and report back? Doesn't say exactly when it will start.

TIA,

Bama ED

PS-I think this makes the 3rd resort along with the Fort and Port Orleans (which I've only read about not visited - I don't think they do the movie and it's only seasonal on certain nights of the week).

The Contemporary start poolside movies last Sept. I thought I read the Poly had started or was starting the poolside movie also.

When I was at WL a couple weeks ago I saw a screen in the sandy area by their bike barn so they too must be doing movies. I guess every resort may have had a better pool lol but we have a better movie screen. I better hush before they come take it down and move it lol. I have also seen a movie screen at the Beach Club when we ate there last Thanksgiving Weekend. They had a pirate type theme there I believe.

Did the article really say for GF guests only? If so then pizz on them. The way I read it, it says guests staying at GF, but I doubt you'd be checked. Who knows, them rich folk might have a chip in them lol. We rode the monorail one night to MK and I had already seen a movie screen set up down there so I'm not sure how new this is. Maybe MP just got wind of it.

IIRC it was there in December.

And it's not a chip, it's a special platinum wristband. :rotfl2:

Yep, when we walked around there in March they had an inflatable screen set up on the beach. Kind of cool, but not as nice as the Fort's IMO. They were showing High School Musical 3 though, so we HAD to watch a few minutes or my 9 yo would have been disappointed!

And I don't think the GF movies would be for any of us. I think they are only showing documentaries and foreign language films. Doubt you'll see the Apple Dumplin' Gang up on the gold plated screen.

I love the Apple Dumplin Gang movies. Brings back good memories of time spent with my Dad:thumbsup2, may he rest in peace!!

What the heck is a SIAP:confused3 Is that some kind of beer:cool1:

speaking of beer, I am glad to hear that they have Yeunglin beer at the Fort. :worship::banana::worship::banana:

Can't wait. :hippie:

I have a friend at work that loves that BEER. He is actually twisting my arm to try it. Not like it is that hard to do.....

Can't find it here in Michigan. Tried a couple places in Ohio and no luck, was suprised that they have it at the Fort. I will never, ever, ever want to leave, and I haven't even been there before. :hippie:

You will love it! It is so addictive. The Fort that is!:lmao:

It looks like we will be there the same time. We are there May 22nd to 31st. It has been a little over two years since I have been there and I don't think I could wait another day!

Sounds like I will be tasting some Yeunglin while I am there:cool1:

This is because Yingling opened a manufacturing plant in FL!

They had an inflatable floating screen at the Yacht Club too. They also had a real campfire on the ground in the sand.

Yuengling is a very popular beer at my husband's store. For a while there, he couldn't keep it on the shelves. My daughters tell me that it is very popular with the younger crowd (both daughters are of legal age, so it is okay that they know this!). I guess I need to get him to bring some home so that I can check it out.

The beach club has a nightly movie and campfire w/ s'mores as well. It was nice and all but I wouldn't really compare it to the one at the Fort because it was a beach setting and had a completely different feel about it. The poly didn't offer movies when we were there a few months ago.

Hey, Hey! Don't make a comment like that - many threads have been hijacked after comments like that with THIS crowd. ;)

So even with the other places offering outdoor movies, campfires, and/or singalongs, I wonder if any others offer Chip and Dale or other charachters. :confused3

No characters at the BC campfire/movie last summer. I'll be at the GF this summer and will report back about the campfire if no one else does before then. Come to think of it, I can already guess what I will say- "The GF campfire was nice and all but it just doesn't have the same great atmosphere as the Fort so there is no comparing the two".

And just to keep my post on topic, I'll mention beer as well ;)

I tried it for the first time at WDW in Dec. and it quickly became my "orderin' out" beer of choice. :thumbsup2

Haven't found it here in NH yet.

(and yet another thread falls into the gravitational pull of the Beer Planet)
