Shuttle Launch from roof of parking garage

There could possibly be a shuttle launch on the day we're going to Universal and I was wondering if, once we parked, we could take the elevator or stairs to the roof of the parking garage to see the launch? I wasn't sure if they closed off upper levels or if you could just go up there. Has anyone done this?

You can view the shuttle from just about anywhere in the Orlando area as long as it's clear. You won't get a better view from the garage as opposed to the parks so I would just hang out at the park instead of trekking to the top of the garage. Remember...the most important thing is the weather...if it's clear you can see it from anywhere in Central Florida.

A suggestion I would offer is, if the launch schedule doesnt change you should try to time it and go on Dr. Doom when the shuttle launches. Now that could be a great view if positioned correctly on the ride itself.
