I am in the process of planning our first Disney World Vacation. I do not want to have to rent a car and would rather rely on Shuttle Transport and or Taxi if possible. Can anyone tell me about the Shuttles to the Theme Parks from Sheraton Vistana Villages Resort? They are suppose to be free, can anyone confirm that? What is the name of the shuttle provider? What is their schedule and do they provide just once a day service or how often do they run the buses? Thanks in advance!

I think the shuttles are only free if you book as a hotel. I think owners, and people who rent from owners (directly and indirectly) have to pay for the shuttle.

You'll much happier either staying onsite or renting a car.

I don't know one way or the other, but I sort of doubt that this is the case. We were there last week (a low occupancy week) and the shuttle vehicle - which we did not use - was a full-sized bus. I find it hard to believe that there would be enough people reserving through Starwood reservations to be able to warrant use of a bus, which was parked on property at night.

OP: I'd suggest calling the resort at 407-238-5000 to get the full scoop on their theme park shuttle.

Thanks and I did book it as a hotel through their website, I got a discount on the rooms and it had some pretty good reviews. All the review websites state their is a free shuttle to Disney so I will contact the resort directly to get the specs. just hoping someone here might have used it and could fill me in on the details. :)

Just because they have their own permanent bus there doesn't mean they let timeshare owners ride it for free. I read on another site that it was $7 each way I think.

How are you getting to the resort from the airport? By the time you pay for taxi or shuttle, it may not be that much more to rent a car.

I didn't say only hotel type guests could take the shuttle. I said only those guests ride for free. There may be enough paying guests to justify a full bus. It's also possible the bus stops at other resorts.

Thanks for the replies. I am still trying to decide whether to rent a car vs. taking the shuttle. We are thinking of taking a Taxi from MCO to the Resort and back. If the charge is excessive for the shuttle you are right, we may be better off to rent a car. I had hoped to avoid driving. I got a good deal on the resort and do not wish to change to a Disney resort at this point because I do not feel I could get a villa at the same price as I got there and that would leave me with having to stay in a Disney Value Resort and with our size family, the suites at the Value Resort look much smaller. Plus I like all the amenities that the SVV offers. So, at this point I am trying to figure out what would be the cheapest, a rental car or the shuttle. Any thoughts.

i am also planning a trip with a large family. We are staying at Sheraton Vistana Resort which is in a different location/same company.

1. the shuttle/bus rides to Disney only are FREE to hotel bookers & maybe direct owners under Sheraton. The fee for all others depends on who you book with.

2. transfer in a cab will be pretty darn expensive. You might as well rent a car. Hotwire has good deals. otherwise FL Tours had a rate to our resort from the airport for $134 round trip & that was for 9 people. Your location is different so it could be cheaper & depending on how many you have in your party. I would suggest you research several companies to get the best deal.

3. If you plan to go other places along International Drive, invest in a weekly unlimited pass for the I9 trolley. a 7 day pass currently cost $10 & kids under i think 9 are FREE. The trolleys pick up every 20 mins & run from 8am to 10:30pm. Unfortunately they do not go into Disney

hope this helps:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for this reply. I received an email from the Manager of the SVVR this morning. He stated that the bus runs intermittently throughout the day.

I have already checked into transportation to and from the airport for roughly around $129 for the lot of us.

I was not aware of the I9 trolley. Where do I find more information about that? Does it go all over? Do they go to Universal Studios?
