Shutters Photos - Best Albums for the 8x10 pictures?

We have always purchased the full Shutters package - the disc and all the pictures. We just love having them. I continue to struggle with the best way to preserve them in an album. We have the 8x10 pictures (8 1/2 x 11??) and maybe I am not looking in the right places but I can't seem to find a good album(s) to hold all the 8x10 pictures? I don't want to use all the little corner stickers in a scrapbook and just slipping into 8x10 plastic pages (which I can never seem to even find that size) just doesn't seem right.

Has anyone found great albums that work well for these? Do the magnetic pages properly keep the photos preserved? Thanks in advance!

8x10 photos should be framed if possible, enjoy them!

Otherwise, the idea is to keep them flat, dry, and away from light. I like to put them in photo preserving sleeves and flat into an acid free box. Rotate them between frames and long-term storage.

You can put them into a binder to make your own scrapbook, using 3 hold punched sleeves but be mindful of the bendy-ness of your book and how often you'll actually flip through and look at it vs wanting to preserve the photo for the long-term. Also try a larger album (say, 11 x 14) so that the 8x10 is smaller than the frame of the album pages itself.

Try looking at camera stores (online too) vs craft stores for the right sized fit sleeves if making your own scrapbook approach.

I used to teach scrapbooking, and still scrapbook as a hobby, so I will take a stab at your question. You asked whether magnetic pages properly preserve photos. I'm certainly not familiar with every brand of magnetic album, but the answer for the most part is no. Photo-safe albums should be acid and lignin free and magnetic albums generally are not. (If you are going to put memorabilia like tickets, postcards, etc. in the same album as your photos, I used to also recommend looking for buffered pages. They prevent the acid from memorabilia from migrating and damaging your photos).

Using a binder with 3 hole punch sleeves that are not specifically designed for photos has the same downsides as using a magnetic album. (Photos will yellow and degrade over time).

Personally, I use 12x12 albums. If I use pocket style pages, I will use a coordinated piece of scrapbooking card-stock behind my large professional photos.

I've had the same issues when trying to find a photo album to fit all the 8x10s came with my full Shutters package from our cruise in March. I asked in the gift shop on the Dream for a photo album that would fit those prints, and the CM smiled and said "You'd think we'd carry that wouldn't you. But we don't. Our photo albums all only fit smaller photos." I ended up with the same solution as Jess_S above. I bought a couple nautical themed 12X12 albums with pocket pages and used scrapbooking cardstock behind the photos.
