I've made a 5x7 autograph book through shutterfly. Each page has a place that says "Place Photo Here" and a blank area with "Sign Here" for the characters to sign.

Before I spend $20 and buy this Im wondering if anyone has every made their own book through shutterfly? How did they turn out? Were they easy to sign?

At this point I was only going to order 1 and see how it turned out. If it was good I would order 2 more for my mom and me & hubby to share.

Here is what it looks like

What do you guys think??

Well, I'll first say that I've really liked the photobooks I've made through sh'fly in the last couple years. They have really improved, and the quality, especially if you're starting with good pictures, is great.

But I wouldn't make an autograph book, definitely not. I would spend the $6 on a Disney autograph book, and make myself a pretty picture/story book through sh'fly later on, where I was using digital pictures, not putting prints into the book, know what I mean?

Unless there's something I am missing, of course. But I would use sh'fly books for digital pictures and bits of text, instead of just white pages for autographs and prints. Make sense?

Thank you, I didnt even look at the other options. I was just having too much fun with shutterfly (can you tell Im a newbie with it??:cool1: )

Based on a number of the other threads on this site I ordered my autograph cards (not made by me -- but by some VERY talented individuals who have shared their DISigns) from SnapFish. I ordered them as pictures in Matte finish and will put them in one of those plastic photo albums (I found them in the birthday section @ Walmart for 97 cents). When I signed up I got 50 prints for free then added another code from searching the web -- my total for 154 prints was $16.04 delivered or approx $20 for 4 books each with 36 pages.

I think I subscribed to the thread with the pictures of a SnapFish album, if you want to see it I can find it for you.

Oh it is VERY fun. The books I've made with my pretty disneyland/DCA pictures are just lovely! It's really easy too. I love photoworks as well, but I have to use a different browser than normal (have to go to Safari instead of Firefox on my Mac) and I never remember that, ugh. And if you ever get some astounding pictures you want in a book, inkubooks makes some incredible books.

That would be really great if you could post the link :goodvibes I like the idea of having individual sheets and then putting them in a book after, just in case we have some that get messed up.

Thanks for the other links, this is great!!

Personally I think $20 for a book of blank pages is high. And, you are paying $20 for them to print your pictures, which you are not doing. And, my other thought is... if a character uses a pen that will smear, when you close the book it is going to make a mess all over the page in front just because of the photo paper that will be used.

I like the other posters ideas of making your own into a scrapbook later.

I think you are right :) I could always scan the signatures and put them with pictures later.

The thread is 31 pages - but -HOPE- has some wonderful posts with pictures that inspired me to do my own books, and you can't help but admire the work by the DISigners here -- incredibly talented individuals who selflessly share their work so these books (and more!) are possible. If you do some searching you can find posts to the DISigners photobuckets and 4Shared files.

Two of the four kids that will be with us are girls that are 11 so they may not be into the autograph thing and if that happens then the books I make will turn into photo albums with pictures of the trip so all will not be lost.

Good luck with your book, these are SO FUN to make!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I cannot believe the information I just got from that, and all those pages.... they make mine look so sad :rotfl2:

My daughter is going to be elated!!

I think yours looked great! Just thinking that for the same $$ you can make 4 times the number of books and save the gorgeous pages you planned as the after trip photo album :)

Have fun planning and creating your autograph albums! You may find you are just as elated making it as your daughter will be to see it -- and don't forget to share pictures of your finished product!! :goodvibes
