shutdown of MS could impede my efforts to book

at 7 mos window. we want to change our reservation at BRV on 2/19 and following, to another dvc, hopefully Polynesian studios, but the temporary shutdown won't let us book on the 19th.I wonder if it will be a problem to re=book?

Can’t you just book online? I’ve switched my resort at the 7 month window multiple times online and never needed to call MS to do it.

Online is shutting down. MS shutdown is because the systems will be 100% offline.

As mentioned, everyone will be in the same boat. The bigger issue will be when it goes back live that you will have a few days of people all trying. The one option you can do, especially if you have a few extra points to do it, is pick up the rooms before the shut down by starting your 7 month window a little earlier?

For example, you want to change on July 19th for Feb 19th. Could you actually go on and start your trip on the 17th to pick up what you want? When the system opens back up, just drop the 17th and 18th?

If one doesn't have the extra points, it won't work as a strategy.

I'm supposed to try to do the same thing on July 20. They say the work will be complete by the 20th, but does that mean by 8:00 EST when booking begins, or does that mean sometime during that day (meaning you have no idea what time to try)? I wish I could do Sandisw's method, but I will be borrowing points so I don't have any to play around with. Good luck, everyone!

Yea, its tough that the 7 month window happens to be presidents weekend. I was going to make some changes to my 11 month reservation. I imagine the online system will get a workout on its first day up, and we know there will not be a true time when it goes live again, so anytime on the 20th.
