We just returned from our Labor Day weekend stay at WDW. We ate at Shula's in the Dolphin and were able to leave our 2 kids at Camp Dolphin for 2 free hours! We were staying at AKL at the time so it didn't seem to matter where you were on site but as long as you ate at Shula's, you could use the kid's club there for free (up to two hours, after that it's $10 per hour per child). They also included dinner for the kids and arcade tokens.

I guess this is their way of giving people a break who want to eat there but don't want to bring their kids. Not to mention easier on the restaurant and guests as well. :D

Thought I'd pass this along.....

Thanks we were planning on putting our kids at the club at our hotel, Beach Club, and then heading over to Shulas. Maybe we will take advantage of this instead.

Definitely do! We wanted to use Simba's Cubhouse too but we couldn't pass up the $40 savings, especially on such an expensive meal!

All these decisions!! :) We have reservations at Camp Neverland at the Poly (where we're staying) and were planning on going to Shula's possibly. Two questions, how did the kids like Camp Dolphin? How many kids were in there? And how was Shula's??? My husband is a huge steak fan and I really want to go there but figured we'd have to take a taxi over since there's no easy way to get there from the Poly as I understand and we'd be paying $60 for the kids at Neverland- if I could save the $60 I'd try Shula's!! Thanks for the hint and hope you can help!

Good question, what is Camp Dolphin like? Do they have the video games there like at the other kids clubs? Did your kids like it.

I'll answer about Shula's. It's simply the best steakhouse on property. The rest are the minor leagues.

Actually Camp Dolphin was kinda small compared to the other Clubs we've tried. There were three separate rooms and a ton of kids that night (around 13-14). My kids seemed to enjoy it but they did say it wasn't one of the best, mine are 8 and 12 and friends of ours were there too with an 8 and 11 yo.

My daughter reports that there was a large screen TV with a Star Wars video game on it, along with others, a foosball table, two computers that didn't really work, a chalkboard and craft table. They did come home with a little picture frame.

They took the kids to Tubbi's, due to the large number, where they were offered pizza, chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers and grilled cheese. Possibly they bring the food to the room if there aren't too many?

We found them in the arcade when we went to pick them up where they had received 10-15 tokens with which to play games.

All in all I would say they had fun while we were having fun without them and it was free!!

Imhall2000,
My kids loved the Neverland Club so that will be a toughie, and it is huge! At least you can go in there during the day so they can play around while you're with them.

Shula's was very good but pricey! My steak was excellent, I had the NY strip sirloin (it was a 16oz that's not listed on Deb's menu). My husband actually finished the 48oz Porterhouse and will have his name engraved on a plaque!! The steaks come with peppers and mushrooms but other veggies are extra $$. They actually bring out the raw cuts of meat to show you what they look like. Most of the others I was interested in had the bone in. Caesar salad wasn't as good as I'd hoped and the asparagus was too hard my hubby said. The other couple we were with had the prime rib which I think they enjoyed. Due to their celebrating an anniversary, we got a free souffle for two split 4 ways. It was pretty good considering I've never had souffle, a little like pudding.

I would rate Shula's above Yachtsman but I haven't tried Concourse yet.

Boy this is long! Hope it helps!

If MGM is still open for when you want to go to Shula's at the Dolphin you can take the bus from the poly to MGM and then either walk or boat it over to the s/d (which is the first boat stop). that should save you at least one taxi trip.

You could also monorail to epcot and cut thru, but thats a much longer walk since its going thru the park (and you will need park passes). Going home you could also plan it to catch illuminations at epcot after dinner at shula's.

If you have 3 kids do they all get 2 hours for free at Camp Dolphin it we eat at Shulas, or is there a limit?

Hmmmm....I'm not sure.
You would probably have to ask but what they told me was 2 free hours for each child so I' guessing - Yeah! Do call and verify. Make sure you speak to concierge which handles the reservations because the first person I talked to said you can't even use the club unless you stay there. That turned out to be wrong, obviously!
