Shrek no longer expresS!!!!!!-rumor

We went and used express Saturday and they had installed a new permanent looking scanner and revised the express queue. They scanned everyone but it was faster than the handheld readers.

Does this apply to the FOTL too, or just the express passes.

On a side note, we were watching Shrek 4d last night as well as the original Shrek and I said to my wife that I wondered if thats where you got your name from MotherFletcher. Guess that was a quick answer.

It doesn't make sense to me to eliminate Express on Shrek since the line tends to be very long.

I was just there and rode Shrek several times using the Express line. I saw the permanent scanner there too. It wouldn't make sense for them to have installed that (it wasn't there in March) and be doing away with express.

Edited to add: I just read screamscape and it is true that they have added Express to Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster. They had an Express sign up and an employee directing people to the appropriate line. My kids used it several times. Hotel guests used to ride using the exit, but there was not an express line.

We were just there today and there was Express access for Shrek. We walked right on, the other line was 45 minutes.

Thanks for sharing. I was starting to freak out!

Actually the rumor is probably true. I'll check it out today and post back tonight. Meanwhile read this:

This was posted by a person who works at Shrek:
SHReK is not an Express attraction (except for hotel keys) as a trial for the next two weeks. It MAY be extended, depending on how this works out. Ya gotta remember the capacity of the theater is SMALL, and the show is LONG. The people who had express passes could not always be accomodated in 15 mins or less, and the people in the other line were having 2 1/2 hour waits, and were furious at seeing others basically walk up and go inside. The Express pass holders would complain that they were GUARANTEED a 15 minute maximum, not really caring that the other line was two hours long sometimes. NOBODY was happy. Today the longest wait was 1 hour 15 mins, and mostly 60 or less. At the end of the two weeks, the data will be evaluated. I personally think SHReK does not have the capacity to accomodate Express passes. If they were restricted to a specific time it could work, but not with Express Plus and hotel keys thrown in. There were a LOT of angry guests today... but hopefully it will settle down in the next few days.

I figured that was the case. Too bad the theater isn't bigger like Lighthouse 4d. Plus the ride is at the front of the park, so everyone will go there first. I don't see what the novelity is with the attraction. It's the same movie, and most have seen it. I think many go just because the line is long and they feel cool getting on with no wait. Which is fine, but when I go in two weeks, I'm running past it to the Mummy.

Another ride where capacity is low is Dr. Doom. Stand in the regular line and it barely moves. Why? Because they're letting hotel guests in from the exit side. Single rider line is the only way to go on Dr. Doom if you get there late and don't have an express pass.

I really like the Shrek show and think it is a very worthwhile attraction. Glad to hear that the hotel express will still be honoured.

The express line was gone at Shrek today. They had another line for FOTL hotel guests but I didn't see anyone in that line so I couldn't tell if it was open or not. I'm assuming the hotel FOTL is still active though or they wouldn't have had it roped off. It comes from the side of the ride and not along side the regular line like the old Express line did.

I did talk to a friend who was at the park this morning early and the Shrek express pass machine was covered up all day.

Very true. Under normal circumstances, though, express gets one tower, standby gets the other.

And singles is faster there...

Yesterday (June 1) regular express is being changed or eliminated, except for hotel guests. We were there yesterday (HRH Guests) and without the other express people we were literally able to walk on Shrek, that's why it looks like noone is in line.

:bounce: I'm glad we were there last week!!! I guess the only way to see Shrek without waiting 30-75 minutes is to get there when the gates open. Which is what we did one morning.

The next day we went to the park around 10:30 and got an express pass for 5:15 pm....when we returned with our passes there was a 60 minute wait and it was hot. :earseek: I could feel the stares as we walked right in.

I wondered, if they let all the people that have FOTL, express pass plus and regular express passes in what about the people that are waiting in the regular lines?

Last year when we got to the park all express passes were gone so we had to wait about 2 1/2 hours. My son wanted to go so bad. It is a very long wait, especially with the heat.

I am also glad that hotel guests are able to use express. It is SO worth it to stay at one of the resorts. If anyone can budget it then I say go for it and you won't regret it.

I second that notion. Last year, I originally made ressies for off-site, thinking our budget couldn't handle the onsite hotels. DH said to heck with it and urged me to make ressies onsite. We were soooo glad we did. Each time we walked on to an attraction that had an otherwise long line, we gave each other a "high five" for having made that decision. Staying onsite is the only way to go . . .

Ditto. It also adds to the "Universal experience" IMO.
