why did I open this thread & read it just before I go to bed? I just know I am going to have a nightmare of a 15 ft snake eating the Easter bunny!

. however the corn snake thought I was food one day. i washed my hands after eating but some (I don;t know how) I still had chicken smell on my arm...I don;t know if I have any pics.

our boa "nipped" me. myfault. there were tornado warning (so he was already agitated) I had brought the cats to the basement and reached in the tank, very suddenly, to bring him down, too. I say nipped, because it hurts more if my cat scratches me.

as far as smelling like food: our retic. was still hungry after eating 2 mice. so nebo warmed up a hot dog, rubbed it around the box the mice came in, and wiggled it in front of the sanke... he ate it!. but the funniest thing was watching him constrict the hot dog first! nebo swears the snake turned his head and "gave him a look"!

We found a small snake in the front yard earlier. The kids asked if they could keep it. I said no.

very pretty snake.. love the markings.
is it amelinistic? looks like it. we had one, with (we were told by the seller) the zygote for albinism.
BTW, even tho we haven't had smakes for 10 years, we have freinds who still have one of our "babies" we sold them..

Very cute corny! They certainly are great snakes!

yes, I think that is amelinistic (lacking the dark pigment).
some corn snakes are anarithrystic (lacking the light pigments). very few are actual albinos.
i always thought the amelinistic ones looked like a piece of orange "juicy fruit" gum (you youngsters have no idea what I'm talking about) anyway, very pretty. you should breed it.
you have to keep the male and female apart. and keep the male in a cooler temperature for a while first (I think, if I remember correctly). once the eggs are laid, put them in a box (like a wooden cigar box) with a paper towel over them, and mist them (not soak) every day or so.
