Kona Cafe and California Grill! I have an open dinner one night..both look good. We are on DxDp, so dining credits are not an issue! It will be me, my DBF, and my 2 children, ages 4 and 10. As far as behavior goes, they would do well in both places, and both are great eaters!

Show me your pics and give me your best argument, why I should go to your pick!

I don't have any food porn but definitely go to Cali Grill! My 9 yr old son loved it. The woodfire grill pizza was yummy and for dessert they have gummy sushi. They even give the kids chopsticks w/ an attachment so they can use them. If you look, you will be able to find the Disney Food Porn thread and find some great pics.

There is an existing thread that has food photos categorized by restaurant. Seems like a good place to start in your quest.

We haven't been to Cali Grill...but LOVE Kona! LOVE LOVE KONA..steaks are great!

PS....got a chuckle about the FOOD PORN..you must have a ipad or iphone with auto correct, gets me all the time. :lmao:

NO, it is called food porn LOLOLOL!!! A play on an otherwise not so kosher subject :)

The steak did catch my eye!

Thanks to everyone else.

Still looking forward to pics and suggestions, comments, etc though!

Oh my, tough choice! Of the two, I'd take California Grill. It is a must-do for my family every trip, but Kona has been very good all three times we've been there too.

Kona Cafe is a favorite of mine!!
Here is a picture of the teriyaki steak from 2008. They now serve it with broccolini, not broccoli.

And my favorite appetizer, the sticky wings! They usually drizzle the mustard sauce on top, but we got it on the side in 2008. Now we let them put it on top cause it is soooo good, and I normally don't like mustard!

I order this every time we go to Kona and it is always fantastic!!!:thumbsup2

I have a few pics from our Nov. 2010 dinner at California Grill. :thumbsup2

I Can't comment on Kona... especially because it's on my "short list" of places I want to go... :)

However I do have some food porn from DS18 and my visit to Cali Grill May 2010....

We went for the sushi...

The view was incredible....

I need to remember how to share photos... Snake in the Grass Sushi:

Thanks for all of the great pictures! The kids dessert is a riot! Food looks so good at both places!

Can anyone clarify for me, how do they handle DxDP at Cali Grill? I see there is a flat bread section, sushi and then first course? Can I pick from any of them as my app? So confusing!

I feel like Cali Grill has more options for my family, but something about Kona Cafe has us leaning towards that... both pictures from places look amazing!

Flatbreads, first course, and sushi (with the exception of Snake in the Grass and Yoshi's Deluxe platter) are eligible appetizers. The two sushi options that can't be ordered as an appetizer can be ordered as an entree.

Kona is one of my favorite non-signature restaurants for dinner. The sticky wings are outrageous. However, once you get into the signature realm, it's a whole new ballgame. California Grill is to us the best on site (have not tried V&A), and overall one of my favorite restaurants, period. If it was in NY, we would go regularly, which is not something I would say about a whole lot of places in WDW. The sushi is definitely world class, the flat breads are delicious, and the cooked meals have all been excellent. (Except the filet. Wasn't crazy about the filet.) The desserts have been a little underwhelming considering how good the rest of the food is, but still decent.
