Did not take too many pics after our trip to Florida in December 2007. My Dad has been really sick and the only outing we have had was a 2 day trip to Northern New Brunswick (2 hours from Home) in October as well as some pics of our cats.

All taken with the Canon S5 IS...Next year I hope to dazzle you all with the Pics from my new XSi...

Well here is my shots...Not great but I love them anyways.

My Bébé's nose (he's 16 years old)

On the water...Calm but moody.

Acadian Light House (It's painted to look like the Acadian flag. The Acadians are the decendants of French settlers and we still proudly speak French but we are not to be confused with the French People from Quebec)

The 3 next ones are parts of a statue I like in a National Park in New Brunswick Canada.

I work 12-15 hours a day, seven days a week from Mid-May to Mid-October so no time to take pics unless they are outside my office like this one...

All 3 of our cats together...THIS NEVER happens...(not a great shot but I am thankful I even got one of this monumental event)

2. June - Vero Beach - I was a bit torn about posting this one or the one of the shelf cloud that I posted in the Disney weather thread. This one has more personal meaning because the shadows belong to myself and DH.

5. This is a collage I made from 3 photos I took - had the collage printed at 20x30, mounted, framed and gave it to DH for his birthday.

Sure. I used an action called midnight (something - can't remember exactly). I got it from http://www.ezactions.com they are not free, but not expensive either and they work for either elements or full photoshop. After that I put a vignette around it and sharpened.

All your photos are fabulous!! I will share some, too, if I may! I haven't been out with my camera much this year, but I plan to next year - one of my resolutions, I think! So in no particular order -

A couple of shots of Moreton Bay, east of Brisbane. A beautiful late summer day!

Wivenhoe Dam - our major water supply dam for Brisbane, towards the end of a very serious drought. The dam level was about 17% and we were (and still are) on severe water restrictions. Usually the brown areas are under about 10-20 feet of water!

I went to Perth, Western Australia, in July for work. In some time off I went for a walk with my camera. I love the photo of the canoeists - it seems so relaxed and serene.

My baby (Charlotte) in the back yard concentrating very hard on the ball in front of her!!!

About once a year in winter we get this amazing sunset - the sky just turns orange! This is taken from my back deck.

My friends new baby daughter - I only got the one shot - my batteries died right then and I didn't have any spares!!

A blue faced honey eater in my back yard - they love the native trees for the nectar! He/she actually sat still for a split second so I could get this shot!!

Thanks Jen! I thought it might be photoshop (or elements) specific so no go for me. I'll have to see if I can find something similar though.

Love this thread! There are some really amazing photos here! I've been away for a while, and as I searched for my top 12 pics of '08, I figured out why. We did SO MUCH last year! We've traveled a LOT! It was a very busy year for us. I'm telling you now, I went over 12. There were a couple "ties" I just couldn't break. Sorry! Anyway, here goes...

From our hotel room at the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago in January. We were supposed to be in Disneyland. It was to be the hubby's first flight ever! But our flight was cancelled due to mechanical failure, he flipped, and we went to Chicago instead. Had a really great weekend though!

OK, I didn't actually take this (Does that mean it doesn't count towards the 12? ), but this is from our WDW trip in May. That's DH and myself on the left, celebrating our anniversary. We were able to bring friends with us - my best friend from high school and her husband, who celebrate their anniversary the day before us, and another friend of mine, who was celebrating her birthday, and her husband, who was celebrating his graduation from the University of Illinois! We had a lot to celebrate!

I DID take this on our May trip! The tigers get active at the end of the day. This one didn't like it when another invaded his territory.

From the first wedding I did last year. This one was using my lensbaby.

Remember the friends who celebrate their anniversary the day before my DH and I? Well, they both work at the Indianapolis Zoo, so we went there about 4 times last year. The next two photos are both from our June visit, when they had their temporary koala exhibit. It was really tough to narrow down the zoo pics because there are SO MANY!

From the other wedding I did last year...

Our September WDW trip yielded a LOT of material! First from Festival of the Lion King...

Then two from the last week of the Adventurer's Club. We spent two nights there, and I took TONS of photos, so this was another time when I just couldn't narrow it down to one.

And from the fireworks convention. I love this because you just don't usually see the fireworks at that end of Main Street. After the convention fireworks were over, I spun the camera around 180 degrees and shot Wishes! Amazing!

One of my closest friends had a baby boy in June. This is him in August.

In November/December, we made it to Disneyland!!! DH LIKES flying now! There was so much to see and photograph in California. It was our first trip there, and it was beautiful! Here's the Walt Disney Concert Hall, one of the coolest buildings I've ever seen...

finding 12 i like will be hard so no particular order, well actually after i posted them i guess it goes from more normal to more odd and hope these are all from 08

one of the first collages i made

from a local rose garden. it was pouring till i got there so liked all the raindrops on the flowers...i messed with this one to make it softer since i think of old roses as soft for some strange reason

same shoot different feel

i actually took this in 07 but didn't convert and work on it till 08 so guess that counts. i have ME/CFS and did a series of photos about what it is like to have it....one thing you get with that (among other things) is this weird thing called brain fog, messes up memory( what did i have for breakfast again), ability to think( IE math ) etc. posted this on a cfs site and it got some good response there, must have captured that feeling for me as well as for some others. fogged and blurred it converted tob&w added grain

i guess this one is really kind of creepy. it's at a cemetery and some kind of little mausoleum type deal. but i guess to me it was a picture of the "end of the road" so to speak i centered it since it's serious, made it purple cast after converted to b&w, might have upped the highlight on the trees in the center a little, don't really remember.I'm going to do this with an auratone if i ever get around to it.

my real life fantasia type flower, a bored daisy .. OK well that is what i looks like to me with the 2 smutches in the center part that look like eyes, the mouth hole yawning in the very center and the 2 upturned petals like fingers in front of the mouth, maybe you had to be there?

a waterfall not far from my house i like to go to , this one in fall ( duh) but i liked the way the light hit the tree on the right

one of the few times i dragged my sorry self out of bed in time to get some shots at dawn, sheep going out to the pasture from a barn in Middlefield Oh ( 20 mins from my house)

this one is a photo, really it is, of a coleus from my flower box then i messed around with it till it looks like a volcano or something pretty "unplant" like to me. i like the hot colors

not sure if i took this in 07 or 08, it's a wrought iron door handle on the door of the maple sugar bush building in a local park..."revamped" in 08 for sure, made the canvas larger, put the photo on 4 times in different colors then tilted and cropped the whole thing so it was all on an angle. just added the plastic overlay for someone so not sure which this is, the first or the one with the plastic
edited....it's the plastic one

at the beach last spring( March i think), liked the linear feel of all the snow fences angles IE slats angle one way, post were straight so i put the photo on diagonal as well. another plastic one
