Following on from the weather thread, I'd like to see photos from rainy days at disney, whether they include the rain or not (i.e. you went indoors to get away from it) - what sort of shots do you take? Does the rain inspire you to be out snapping away or shooting indoors in the dry?

Let's see some pics!

Sadly on my last visit to WDW it didn't rain once, so i couldn't take any photos of my own to contribute :guilty:

Looks like I'm the first to reply!

Dec. 2005, my DS16's high school band performed at WDW. Stage performance @ Galaxy Palace Theatre in the pouring rain. They played one song that as it went faster and faster, the rain came down harder and harder. Only folks in the audience were band parents and DAN MURPHY (thanks so much for sticking around, Dan!):

Then they did the afternoon pre-parade the next day. Sunny all day long, we parents picked our spots for the parade, and just at 2:30 when our band headed out of Frontierland, the rain started. After our band went through, they announced that the regular afternoon parade was canceled "for the safety of the performers."

(My DS is in this picture - see the girl with the silver trumpet in the center of the picture? DS16 is just behind her and to the left, also with a silver trumpet.)

I just want to say that the kids didn't care one bit about the rain - they had a blast! They're already asking when the next band trip to Disney World will be. :cheer2:

Here are a couple taken in Norway, Epcot in early July 2006

These prove that a rainy day at the Magic Kingdom is better than a sunny day anywhere

We were at Animal Kingdom the day TS Alberto passed through Florida.

During the Kilimanjaro Safaris, we didn't mind the rain - that is, until the wind picked up and it started raining harder!

The pictures I posted were from the same day at the Magic Kingdom. I like to call this one "Alberto visits the Magic Kingdom :umbrella:

The rain Monday 6/12, though it lasted all day, was not as terrible as the two downpours Tuesday. We just got off the monorail at the TTC to get the bus to Sea World and it opened up. It must have rained for 20 long minutes. The bus finally came and we were soaked, having had umbrellas that didn't help. There were many passengers try to board and because everyone's money was wet it was time consuming for the folks ahead of us. We walked away from the bus and were about to go back to MK, but the rain stopped so we decided to try again. 30 minutes or so later we arrived at Sea World. No sooner had we gone through the gate and it broke loose again, and it seemed like forever. We fed the stingrays (under cover) and dolphins in the rain. We did get some reprieve at Dolphin Stadium during Blue Horizons. It was lightly raining while we went to Pacific Point Preserve, but it was bearable after the earlier rains. Fortunately, that was the last of the rain and the rest of the day was warm and sunny.

It started raining on the way to MK, so we decided to start with a trainride to Toontown, wearing our $ store raincoats... :teeth:

I was at AK the day before that. We did have a crazy downpour early afternoon for about an hour. I didn't take any pics though as I was still walking around and had my camera in a safe dry place.
