Hi everyone.. being newly introduced to Disney Pin trading and the Disney lanyards, I've yet to see many of them up close and personal. I've been searching for just the right lanyard to buy and I'm looking for what my fellow mousers use as lanyards and the pins they showcase. Do you have any pics of your pins and lanyards and do you mind sharing? Thanks :)

photos are all on my home computer, I'm posting from work (at lunch). I just use lanyards purchased at DLR/DCA, I have 1 that I use for only trader pins (solid light pink with Disneyland written on it in purple), 1 that has some traders and some keepers (purple) and 1 that is a pirate lanyard and has all pirate pins on it. I collect Tink, have a full corkboard at home of just Tink pins, I also have a pin book that I keep my smaller collections in. I also collect Maleficent, Jessica Rabbit, Aurora (mostly in her blue dress) and a few other things. :)

Neat.. thanks so much for sharing!! I am holding off getting a lanyard until I find one that I really really like, both style and function :D Most of the lanyards on disneystore.com seem to be wdw, not dlr. Hopefully I will find something fantastic when we are there, two weeks from today!:cool1:

So... when the pins grew from 5 to 20 they went in a coffee mug on the coffee table. When they grew to 100, DH started to hint that it might be time to admit that I am a collector and not just someone with a small interest in pins. :confused3 :rotfl: :upsidedow

Here's a page in one (yeah, one) of my pin books. Other pins are in bags and bins. Some are on lanyards. Then there's the lanyard I wear to the Park, generally with pins only for trading (none that I want to keep or that are important to me).

I generally wear about 10-14 on my lanyard. I have a purple lanyard and a blue one with pixie dust on it. Oh, and one we got when we joined DVC, but I don't wear that one.

Let me know if I can offer any further info. Basically, just have fun with it. And realize that one pin can turn into 1,000 pins without realizing it!

Yay, those are great!!
Where do you get a pin book?

Also.. I might the hardest time actually *trading* my pins that I get. I bought two from the Disney store which I absolutely adore. The other two in my cart were sold out before I got a chance to pay! I bought a backpack to wear around DLR and I'm going to fix the pins to the bp to keep :D

Do many people keep their FP's and AP on the lanyard?

Where do you get a pin book? Just about any of the major shops.

Do many people keep their FP's and AP on the lanyard? Yes ... a lot do

You'll see pins at the parks you adore as well. :)
I got my pin book in DLR, DBF got his there as well, the girls both have pin books (Ok 1 has 3 the other has 2) and they got them at both parks. I use my lanyard to carry my FP's and AP, when I don't have an AP I carry my park ticket in my lanyard pouch. :)
A few photos, these are old tho, the Tink board is almost completely full now. LOL

This is my favorite, we have this hanging in the hallway. This is a silhouette of our girls :)

If someone could tell me how to post a picture I can show you mine and my hubby's collections. It's not on boards or anything but we LOVE pin trading!!

Amen to that! After spending all kinds of money at the pin kiosk in DD one trip, my Aunt and I each promised to stage a "pintervention" if one of us so much as looked at another pin.:rotfl:

Pixiwings 71 - I have seen your collection before and love it (especially the silhouettes). But my daughter would die for the Jessica Rabbit set - did you buy that as a complete set in the frame?

You have to upload them to a host site, like photobucket or flickr, then you copy the image link and paste it into the box that pops up after you click on the "insert link" button, it's the one up above that is the world with the weird little circle thing on it, it's pretty easy once you've done it a few times. :)

it was a framed set like that, DBF bought it for me for my birthday from the disney store online, it was clearanced to something like $40, they don't have them anymore. It is an LE set of 1000. She might like this one as well, he got it at the same time, also on clearance~

I like my Jessica pins a lot :)

Ok! I'm gonna try it today!! : ) Thank you!!

Here are mine, I hope this link works:

I stared really collecting in 2005, although I had a few before that. On my last trip, I tried to focus on Halloween pins (and I got a Halloween themed lanyard), and ride pins...

Belle is my favorite Princess and I really like Jessica Rabbit too.

We are going in July, I will probably do a Cars themed lanyard.

I should also add that my DH thinks I am nuts, LOL.

I didn't wear my lanyard on my last trip, as I had my camera aroundmy neck and I had too much stuff going on.

I wear my lanyard around my neck, my camera either around my neck or in my hand, and more pins in my pockets. My DH KNOWS I'm nuts (when it comes to Disney), but he has reached the point where he helps --- "Cast Member, wearing lanyard, on the right." :goodvibes

I love this and may shamelessly poach this idea! Were those pins at the silhouette place on Main Street? TIA!

I use a Disney lanyard. They have a velcro closure at the bottom, so if they get caught on something during a ride they will come off instead of choking you.

I got mine at WDW since I was only at DLR for one day. However I will probably get a new one at DLR in July. I have a black Pirates one, green Chip and Dale one and purple with multi-color confetti one.

I don't have access to my pictures right now, and usually I take the lanyard off for pictures.

I would also recommend investing in some locking backs (available pretty much everywhere pins are sold at the resort) for your keepers, especially if you will have them on your backpack where they could bump or catch things inside and out, losing pins is no fun and they are almost impossible to find since they are so small!
