Okay everyone, I am looking for all those shots of your little one's first glimpse at the Magic Kingdom (or anywhere else in WDW). You know, the shots where they are in "awe". My husband and I are taking our 2 yr. daughter to WDW in December and I hope to get some amazing "awe" pictures, if you know what I mean. I love the little ones faces when they get so excited. Looking forward to seeing your pictures. Thanks!

I don't have any - either pics or little ones - but wanted to say what a great thread! It is really lovely seeing the sheer awe when they first see Mickey / The Castle, etc..!!!

Look forward to seeing some great memorable shots!

i don't have any either but bumping to see others :)

Well I don't have any of the first glimpse of the MK but I have a few "in awe" photos of my girls to share:

DD7's first look at POP:

DD2 seeing Peter Pan for the first time on the Family Magic Tour, she was yelling "Pan!" when I snapped this:

DD2 seeing Mickey at Chef Mickey's:

Of course, being 2, she was also fascinated with an ant on the sidewalk while waiting for a bus at AKL:

And DD7 was very excited by POP's tie-dye cheesecake:

Yeah, people are responding to this thread!!! Those pictures are adorable, I especially like the little one's face when meeting Mickey at Chef Mickey's. Send more everyone....anywhere in the WDW will work. I love looking at all the pictures of the little one's reactions and can't wait to post some after our December trip!!

Thanks!
Beth

Love those pictures!

I've always wanted to sit just inside the entrance of the MK and snap pictures of people as they walk in and get their first glimpse of the World!

Ok, this is Epcot, not the MK, and not the greatest shot since you can't really see the kid, but it was really sweet. This was our then 2.5yo's first trip to WDW, and we'd had an EARLY flight and headed to Epcot as soon as we checked in. We went straight to the Disney Visa character meet and greet, but by the time we got there, she had (very uncharacteristically) fallen asleep in the stroller. I was inclined to let her snooze and just let her big sister visit with Mickey et al. but the next thing I know, dh is waking the little one. Now, this kid is not a napper, and when she does nap, she has a tendency to wake up in a foul mood, so I'm asking dh if he has lost his mind, but the minute dd laid eyes on Mickey, she broke into a huge smile, and was a perfect delight the rest of the afternoon.

Aww what a great story. My DD is the same way, she needs her naps and if I dare wake her up look out. Hahaha. I'm just hopeful my little one will be as excited as yours. I can't wait for December...hahaha.

I agree with you...I love to people watch and I think one could get some great shots staking out the MK entrance. If only I lived in Florida....hahaha.

lyzziesmom: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that pic of your dd2 at Chef Mickey's with Mickey ... PRICELESS!!! LOVE IT!!!

Not really quite on topic, but here goes anyway. DS (3 1/2 at the time) wanted NOTHING to do with any of the characters. We had dinner at Chef Mickey's and he would hide everytime a character would come by. The characters were cool with that, they understood. Then along come Minnie Mouse. She really played with him. Allowing him to "shoot" her with is new Buzz Lightyear laser gun. To the point of falling down on the ground when he lasered her. Then she took the laser and was shooting everyone in sight including Mickey. I do have pictures of the whole thing and when I get the new USB/Firewire PCI card installed I'll download the video of it. But thats not the pic below. Minnie was the last character we saw at dinner that night, but the next night we ate at CP. Pooh was the first character to come over. Thanks to Minnie's positive interaction the previous night, DS was more than thrilled to not only say hi and smile for a pic, but also give Pooh a hug. After Pooh left and he saw Eeyore he wanted out of the high chair and from then on stood, smiled and enjoyed every character we met at all the character meals. Still wasn't to comfortable at the M&G's at the parks, but thats ok. The meals were perfect.

Like I said, not really on topic, but I thought it kinda fit in that he was kind of in awe of the characters.

the first MK we took DD to was HK Disneyland. here you can see the typical family shot, taken by staff members (nice space over our heads and on either side...)

here, just 6 shots later (after taking the 'Here you leave...' sign and some rubbish bins  ) you can see the amazement on Sevara's face after going around the first roundabout

here, just 4 months later at Disneyland CA. outside she was excited and tried to tell her brothers what disneyland was like. she was very controlled and didn't get terribly excited, until we got all the way to Pooh's. she jumped out of the pram and ran to see Tigger.

What a beautiful little girl! I love the way she is running into the arms of Tigger. Great pictures!

These are from 2004 when we took our son for the 1st time.

I look like I am in pain but I am pregnant and my hormones got the best of me when he kept saying "mommy look, it's the castle, it's the castle". I was just overcome with emotion.

And just to show that I don't always look like I am in pain (haha), this is my DH w/us.
