Should we take a day from our WDW Pres. Week vacation to visit Harry?

We're going to be at Disney during Presidents Week and with our kids (7 and 9 y.o.) up to book 3, we're thinking that perhaps a day trip to IOA to see the Harry Potter attractions may be worthwhile. Already taking a day out of our vacation for Kennedy Space Center (maybe two now that the shuttle launch was moved) -- is it worth it to go to IOA? I fear the crowds may be insane then. I don't know much about IOA's fast pass system, but I gather from the board that you need to either pay a lot or stay at their hotels to get much use out of them.

the crowds President's weekend are @ Disney, at least those onsite @ U have the FOTL. It'd be money well worth it to a day guest to buy the express pass imo.

We are visiting from the 16th thru 23rd of Feb. Originally we were coming down from sat to sat....but I changed to the earlier date (airfare was MUCH cheaper, and we got the free dining by checking in on the 16th.)

Two years ago we visited during Winter Break and the crowds were pretty intense...Doable with a good tour plan, but all the parks got really crowded by mid afternoon.

We are spending one day USIoA.....we have never been before, my DD is 8 now and ready for the bigger rides I think. Plus, we are huge Harry Potter fans....I have been cooking stuff from the Harry Potter cookbook all week.

I changed my plans around so we would be visit Universal on Thurs, hopefully before the huge crowds hit. The extra ride passes (like fastpasses) are 19.99 for Thursday, so hopefully they are not expecting the big crowds yet for that day.
