We are going next May from the 3-12. Should we try and book in Kidani Village?? Is it going to be worth it or should we just stay in Jamba house.

That's entirely up to you. We will wait until all of the construction is finished and things settle down before booking at Kidani.

My personal opinion is that Jambo is going to be close to all the wonderful hotel amenities and Kadini is going to be in Siberia. So make your choice.

Yeah I think we will just stick with Jambo house.....we can always walk over and check out Kidani.

:scared1: SIBERIA???????????????????????:scared1: We are planning our first trip there next July and from the sounds of this........we might not be near anything????????????????????

When we booked Kidani for next May, we were told that it's a long walk, I think they said 1/2 mile, from Jambo to Kidani and there was no shuttle. We booked Kidani because we want to experience the resort ASAP!:woohoo:

1/2 mile!!:scared1: Does the bus stop at Kidani or just Jambo? We are booked for Kidani next June. I am trying to imagine carrying tired children (who just had an exhausting day in a park) 1/2 mile after being dropped off at Jambo . . . not appealing thought!

The way I understand what I was told, there will be a bus stop at Kidani, but there will be no "internal" shuttle running between Jambo and Kidani. We will be checking in at Kidani, so I see no need at all to go to Jambo for this stay.

All of the amenties at Kidani are scheduled to be open as well when the rooms are available, so I don't see any reason to go over to Jambo unless you just want to eat at a restaurant there or something. We heading for Kidani in June!!

Kidani in May would be like a new construction home owner staying the first night.
It is very exciting to stay in a new place, but you probably need to expect some possible kinks or areas/services not running at 100%. If you prefer excitement, then stay Kidani.
If something in Kidani is not finished or running at 100% worries you or will possibly ruin your vacation, then save yourself (and us ;) ) the trouble and book Jambo.

Initially booked Jambo for next June and switched to Kidani on Aug 10 when available. MS told me all amenities will be available in June, but there may still be construction going on. Most of the time I won't be at the resort anyway.

The only thing missing at Kidani is a QS place like Mara. Uwanja Camp and Samawati Springs look sweet (and Maji;)). This is the first trip I am planning specific resort days. Two in fact.

I booked for the standard view studio in Jambo intentionally for late May of 2009. I know that in the Jambo House standard view is a guaranteed pool view - which I can live with and think is very pretty. I don't want to use the extra points for a savanna view until the construction is done. I would rather look at a bird crane than a metal crane. Get it, get it. :rotfl: Okay, I just cracked myself up on that one. :cutie:

Oh No I have a SV room.....should I switch to standard?

Why? The animals should be acclimated and even on the Sunset Savannah by May. If you are worried, well, then switch, but I have a Jambo savannah view studio stay scheduled for March. There will be two savannahs with animals.

Well I just realized that DVD rooms are on the 5 & 6 floor...can you have a good SV being that high up?

I just want to know if it is worth the extra points?

Don't know if it will be worth it or not by that time, but look at it this way; you are going to want to try it sooner or later to see it for yourself. You might as well stay there early and find out if it appeals to you.

You could always have bell services bring the tired children to Kidani - just make sure they are well packed. Bell services can be a little rough handling.
